Intercom Fin pricing (2026): $0.99 outcomes, seats, and the bill people miss

Fin is $0.99 per outcome. The help desk is a separate seat bill. The expensive mistake is paying for quiet chats you would have deflected — or buying Fin because you needed Drift.

Best AI support agent

An AI support agent that can actually resolve tickets.

Fin is Intercom's AI agent. It reads your help center and product content, answers customers, and — when the stars align — resolves the ticket without a human. It leads our customer-service ranking because it is the rare support AI whose commercial model (pay per resolution) matches the job.

Best for
Support orgs already on Intercom, or ready to move, that have a real help center.
Skip if
Your knowledge base is a graveyard and you wanted AI to invent policy.

Why it ranks

  • Resolution-based pricing aligns the vendor with outcomes
  • Quality tracks the help center you feed it — which is the honest model
  • Handoff into human inboxes is a first-class path, not an apology

Watch-outs

  • Costs can surprise you if Fin 'resolves' chats you would have deflected anyway
  • Best inside the Intercom universe
  • Still confident when the article is stale — you must govern content

People search 'Intercom Fin pricing' because they want the $0.99 number, or because finance asked why the inbox invoice and the AI invoice are two lines. Those are different tickets. If you do not name whether you needed a resolved conversation, a help desk, or a website salesperson, you will treat Fin as a cheaper seat — or stay on a human queue until the article you needed is still a graveyard.

This is a cost page, not a feature dump. Public list prices below were checked against intercom.com/pricing and Intercom Help (Fin outcomes, seats, Fin-and-Intercom plans) on 19 September 2026. They change, and startup / Early Stage offers sit next to the list. We do not invent a resolution-rate lab, a typical-contract sticker, or a partner URL. The full review is /tools/intercom-fin. The customer-service ranking is the scored table next to Zendesk AI and Ada. The chatbot ranking is the website-bubble version — Drift and Tidio live there on purpose.

Seat prices from Intercom Help ('Seats' and 'Fin and Intercom plans explained') and intercom.com/pricing, checked 19 September 2026. Annual is the numeral on the default pricing toggle. Monthly is the Help-center full-seat rate. Fin usage is separate.
  • Two meters, always: teammates (Full seats) and Fin outcomes. A $29 Essential seat does not include a pile of free resolutions.
  • Intercom's own wording: an outcome is counted when a customer confirms the issue is resolved, they do not ask for more help after Fin responds, or Fin completes a Procedure (including a configured handoff). One conversation, one charge.
  • You are not billed for an unsuccessful attempt. A customer who asks for a human, or a Procedure that fails, is not an outcome on the Help article we checked.
  • Standalone Fin still has a monthly minimum (Intercom's example is 50 outcomes). That is about $50 before the first 'real' month of volume. It is not a platform fee in the Gong sense — it is a usage floor.
  • Add-ons are optional and public: Copilot is $29/agent/mo annually or $35 monthly; the Pro add-on (Operator + quality) is from $99/mo; Proactive Support Plus is $99/mo with a 500-message pack. Do not bury those in a 'Fin is $0.99' slide.

What 'outcome' means, because that is the invoice

Fin used to sell resolutions. In 2026 Intercom prices outcomes. Resolutions are still one kind. A completed Procedure — gather context, take the action you configured, hand off when that is the design — is another. The Help article is explicit: charged once per conversation, even if the customer asked four things. That is friendlier than a per-message meter. It is also how a silent customer after a half-right answer still prints a line.

Set usage reminders and hard limits before you celebrate a resolution rate. Intercom says you will not be billed for Fin if you are not using it. That is true and incomplete. The teams that get surprised turned Fin on against a FAQ they already deflected, then paid $0.99 for conversations that never needed an agent — human or AI. The customer-service ranking already names this: watch the bill if your volume is already self-serve.

Buy Fin if the help center is already a product

Fin is the honest AI support agent when someone owns the articles, writes guidance for the ugly edges, and will read the misses. Point it at sources you still believe. Staff the handoff. Measure resolved conversations, not 'AI involvement.' That is why it leads the customer-service ranking (8.8). The commercial model — pay when it delivers an outcome — matches the job better than a flat 'AI toggle' on a seat.

If you already live in Intercom, start here. If you are greenfield and like Intercom's product taste, start here. If you are on Zendesk and not performing a migration for sport, do not start here — that is Zendesk AI, and switching help desks to chase a prettier agent is how you lose a year.

  • Best for: B2B SaaS support on or considering Intercom, with a maintained help center and a deflection goal you can name
  • Skip if: the knowledge base is a graveyard, legal will not let an agent speak, or Zendesk is already the system of record
  • Honest watch-out: a confirmed resolution and a quiet tab after a wrong answer can both count. Govern content or the $0.99 line becomes a content tax

Which Intercom seat — if you need the desk at all

Essential is the small-team inbox: Messenger, shared inbox, public help center, Fin access. Pay annually ($29) if the desk is already real. Pay monthly ($39) if you are proving Intercom is not a second tool people hate. One Full seat minimum. Lite seats are not a Full-seat discount — they cannot send.

Advanced is the growing support org: workflows, multiple inboxes, round-robin, private and multilingual help center, 20 Lite seats. Buy it when assignment and automation are the leak, not because Essential felt lonely. Expert is SSO, HIPAA, SLAs, multibrand — a security and brand conversation, often with a contract. Do not open Expert because Fin ran a lot of outcomes. Do not skip it if legal already killed a consumer bot and you still have to capture.

Already have a help desk you are not leaving? Standalone Fin is the row: $0.99, no Intercom seats, a monthly minimum, Intercom's claim of no setup or platform fee. That is a Salesforce / existing-inbox conversation, not a reason to migrate for sport. Confirm the live minimum in the calculator — Intercom's public example is 50 outcomes.

Fin cost versus the seats people actually mean

Versus Zendesk AI (Suite plus an AI add-on, quote): Zendesk wins when Zendesk is already the record. Fin wins when you can live in Intercom and will treat the help center as a product. There is no honest 'Fin is cheaper per ticket' bake-off we will invent. The customer-service ranking is the scored version.

Versus Ada (enterprise CX platform, quote): Ada is a department. Fin is an agent inside a help desk. Buying Fin because a deck said 'CX automation' is how a mid-market team funds a bot without QA. Buying Ada because you needed password-reset deflection is how you sit through a six-month implementation for a $0.99 job.

Versus Drift or Tidio: wrong ranking. Drift books meetings. Tidio is an SMB website widget. Fin resolves tickets. Buying Fin to do SDR work, or Drift to replace a help center, is how chatbot projects embarrass a team. The chatbot ranking exists so this page does not have to.

What we are not pricing

  • A resolution-rate lab. We did not run 400-ticket bake-offs or invent a CSAT lift.
  • WhatsApp, SMS, Phone, or bulk email. Those are separate usage meters. Intercom's pricing FAQ lists them; we will not guess a region rate.
  • Early Stage / '93% off' startup packaging as the list price. Apply if you qualify. Do not plan the year on a program you have not been accepted into.
  • A fake Impact or PartnerStack URL. Until a real partner link is set, the CTA goes to intercom.com/fin.
Most 'what does Fin cost' tickets are a $0.99 outcome ticket, an Essential-desk ticket, or a Zendesk-incumbent ticket. The pricing page is doing too much work if you have not named the conversation job.Aiacent pricing, 2026

Verdict

Help center you maintain, owner who will read misses, already on Intercom or willing to move: Fin at $0.99 per outcome, Essential if the desk is small, Advanced when workflows and inboxes are the leak, Expert when SSO or HIPAA is why a consumer bot died. Keep your current help desk: standalone Fin, confirm the monthly minimum. Already on Zendesk: do not migrate for this page — Zendesk AI. Needed a website salesperson: Drift, then the chatbot ranking. Then read the customer-service ranking if you want the scores next to Zendesk AI and Ada.
