Intercom Fin

An AI support agent that can actually resolve tickets.

8.8/10Best AI support agentUpdated September 12, 2026

The Aiacent take

Fin is Intercom's AI agent. It reads your help center and product content, answers customers, and — when the stars align — resolves the ticket without a human. It leads our customer-service ranking because it is the rare support AI whose commercial model (pay per resolution) matches the job.

It will not save a support team with no articles and no owners. It will leverage a team that already writes things down. That distinction is the entire review.

Every support AI demo looks the same. Ask what happens when the article is wrong. Fin at least admits that is your job.

Pros

  • Resolution-based pricing aligns the vendor with outcomes
  • Quality tracks the help center you feed it — which is the honest model
  • Handoff into human inboxes is a first-class path, not an apology

Cons

  • Costs can surprise you if Fin 'resolves' chats you would have deflected anyway
  • Best inside the Intercom universe
  • Still confident when the article is stale — you must govern content

Who it's for

  • B2B SaaS support teams on or considering Intercom
  • Orgs with a maintained help center and a deflection goal
  • Leaders who want to measure resolved conversations, not 'AI involvement'

Who should skip it

  • Zendesk shops that are not switching (see Zendesk AI)
  • Regulated support that cannot let an agent speak without a human
  • Teams with no one to own knowledge-base quality

What matters in the product

Guidance and content

You point Fin at sources and write guidance for edge cases. This is the work. Skipping it is how you get refunds issued by a poem.

Handoff

When Fin is unsure, a human gets the thread with context. Demand this in any vendor demo.

Reporting

Resolution, CSAT, and 'would a human have done this' reviews. Staff someone to read them.

Verdict

The AI support agent to beat if you can live in Intercom and will treat the help center as a product. Pricing is fair when Fin is actually working; watch the bill if your volume is already self-serve.
