Best AI email marketing tools (2026)
Klaviyo for ecommerce owned channels, HubSpot for B2B on a CRM, Mailchimp for a simple program, Brevo when the bill is the leak — ranked for people who have to send, not for a 40-tool 'AI email' dump.
Most 'best AI email marketing tools' lists still dump twenty ESPs and a subject-line Chrome extension. The 2026 job is narrower: a customer graph that can send, a CRM the pipeline already lives in, a newsletter you will actually keep, or a cheaper send. Mixing those up is how you buy HubSpot to save money on Klaviyo, or Mailchimp because someone said 'we need AI email.'
Klaviyo leads because owned channels still print more money than another headline generator. HubSpot is the B2B hub. Mailchimp is the program people already have. Brevo is the honest cheaper email-and-SMS seat.
If you wanted the rest of the campaign stack, the marketing ranking is next door. If you wanted the store version of Klaviyo, Photoroom, and Pictory, that is ecommerce. This page is the send — short on purpose.
Who this ranking is for. Retention marketers, B2B marketing ops, and small brands whose inbox program is a real channel. Solo operators sending a monthly letter should read the Mailchimp row first and may not need a platform.

Klaviyo
8.9/10Best ecommerce CRM
Email and SMS for ecommerce, now with a serious AI layer.
Klaviyo is not 'an AI tool.' It is the ecommerce CRM that added AI in the places that matter: segments, subject lines, product recommendations, and (carefully) content. That is why it leads our ecommerce ranking, the 2026 marketing stack, and the AI email ranking. The brands making money on owned channels already live here; the AI features are leverage, not the reason the category exists.
- Best for
- Shopify-class brands that make money from owned channels.
- Skip if
- You send a monthly newsletter from Mailchimp and that is the whole program.
Why it ranks
- Still the default marketing OS for serious ecommerce
- AI helps with segments, content, and predictions — on top of a real platform
- SMS, email, and reviews in one customer graph
Watch-outs
- Bills grow with your success, which feels like a tax
- You can over-message if you turn every AI suggestion on
- B2B / non-commerce CRM use is a stretch
HubSpot
8.2/10Best B2B marketing hub
The B2B CRM that added Breeze AI — email as a module, not the product.
HubSpot is not an AI email tool that happens to have a CRM. It is the B2B operating system that added Breeze: content, agents, and a first draft on the contact and the deal. That is why it sits second on the email ranking, ahead of Mailchimp, and why it is a bad Klaviyo alternative for a DTC store.
- Best for
- B2B teams whose marketing email has to sit on the same CRM as the pipeline.
- Skip if
- You are a Shopify brand shopping an ecommerce ESP — that is still Klaviyo.
Why it ranks
- Email, journeys, and reporting on the CRM sales already opens
- Breeze AI drafts, summarizes, and suggests — on records you already trust
- The honest B2B answer when Klaviyo would be the wrong graph
Watch-outs
- You will implement it like a hub, not like a newsletter tool
- Ecommerce lifecycle and SMS still trail Klaviyo
- Easy to buy Marketing Hub because a demo wrote a nicer nurture
Mailchimp
7.8/10Best simple email AI
The newsletter tool people already have — now with Mailchimp AI on top.
Mailchimp is the email tool most 'we need AI email' tickets already own. Intuit's Mailchimp AI will draft a campaign, rewrite a subject line, and suggest a segment. That is leverage on a simple program. It is not a reason to skip Klaviyo if abandoned checkout and SMS are how you print money.
- Best for
- Creators and small brands whose program is a newsletter, a few automations, and a list they already keep here.
- Skip if
- Owned channels are how you make money and you need ecommerce-grade flows — that is still Klaviyo.
Why it ranks
- The default inbox for teams that are not ready for a marketing OS
- Mailchimp AI is useful for subject lines, content variants, and a first draft — on a list you already have
- Templates and a brand kit beat a blank Klaviyo canvas for a monthly send
Watch-outs
- Predictive segments and Shopify-class flows still trail Klaviyo
- Bills and product complexity jump once you outgrow the newsletter job
- B2B CRM and multi-channel lifecycle are a stretch — that is HubSpot
Brevo
7.6/10Best affordable email + SMS
Email, SMS, and a real free send — AI on a price a small team will actually pay.
Brevo (the company formerly called Sendinblue) is the email ranking's honest cheaper send. Email, SMS, WhatsApp, a CRM-shaped contact view, and AI for subject lines and drafts. The teams that like it were about to leave Mailchimp over price. The teams that hate it expected Klaviyo segments on a $9 plan.
- Best for
- Price-conscious teams that need email plus SMS without Klaviyo's profile tax.
- Skip if
- You needed ecommerce-grade predictive segments or a B2B CRM the sales team already lives in.
Why it ranks
- A serious free tier and SMS without pretending to be a boutique ESP
- AI subject lines and content at a price a 2-person shop will actually keep
- Honest Mailchimp alternative when the complaint is the bill, not the craft
Watch-outs
- The customer graph is not Klaviyo, and the CRM is not HubSpot
- Deliverability and design still take work — cheap is not a strategy
- Enterprise lifecycle and predictive ecommerce are why people still pay Klaviyo
Four jobs. Do not buy an 'AI email tool.'
Ecommerce owned channels (Klaviyo). B2B email on a CRM (HubSpot). A newsletter and a few automations (Mailchimp). Email plus SMS on a bill you will keep (Brevo). Forcing a single trophy is how this category has wasted budget since 2023.
- Klaviyo (8.9): the ecommerce CRM. AI segments and subject lines sit on a real customer graph.
- HubSpot (8.2): B2B Marketing Hub. Breeze drafts on records sales already opens.
- Mailchimp (7.8): the simple program. Mailchimp AI on a list you already have.
- Brevo (7.6): affordable email and SMS. The honest cheaper send — not Klaviyo-with-a-discount.
Who should buy what in 2026
Owned channels are how you make money
Fund Klaviyo. It is not 'an AI tool.' It is the ecommerce CRM that added AI in the places that matter: segments, subject lines, recommendations, and (carefully) content. Adopt those features after the flows are right, not instead of them. Skip it if you send a monthly newsletter from Mailchimp and that is the whole program — or if you are B2B SaaS looking for a product-led lifecycle tool. That second buyer wanted HubSpot.
The pipeline is the source of truth
Buy HubSpot. Marketing email that does not know the opportunity stage is a second ESP. Breeze will draft a nurture. Empty properties still invent last quarter's ICP. Skip it if you are a Shopify brand shopping an ecommerce graph — that is still Klaviyo, and the ecommerce ranking is the longer store version.
The program is still a newsletter
Stay on Mailchimp — or buy it — when the job is a send calendar, a brand kit, and a handful of automations. Mailchimp AI is useful on that job. It is a weak Klaviyo. It is a weak HubSpot. Teams that outgrow it usually outgrow the offer, not the subject-line helper.
The leak is the bill
Brevo. Email, SMS, a real free send, AI variants at a price a two-person shop will keep. Do not buy it because a slide said it has AI and Klaviyo does not. Do not skip it if Mailchimp's paid plan became the strategy problem. Deliverability is still on you.
Most 'we need AI email marketing tools' tickets are a Klaviyo ticket, a HubSpot ticket, or a Mailchimp ticket. The word tools is doing too much work.— Aiacent email ranking, 2026
What we left off on purpose
ActiveCampaign is a real automation ESP — honorable mention, not a fifth scored row. Customer.io and Iterable are product-led / mid-market lifecycle; they are not 'AI email' for a 30-SKU store. Jasper drafts the campaign; it does not send it. Copy.ai drafts the first outbound touch — that lives on the sales ranking. ChatGPT will write a newsletter. It will not suppress a list. Klaviyo already leads marketing and ecommerce; this page exists so the send job has its own short list.
Verdict
Klaviyo if owned ecommerce channels matter. HubSpot if the pipeline is the graph. Mailchimp if the program is still a newsletter. Brevo if the leak is the bill and you still have to send SMS. Two of those can coexist at a company that has both a store and a sales team. All four plus a mystery 'AI email platform' is how nothing distinctive lands on a Tuesday. Then read the marketing and ecommerce rankings for the stack around the inbox.
How we chose
- Does it beat a generic chat window pasted into an ESP for a named send job?
- Is the job ecommerce lifecycle, B2B journeys, a newsletter, or a cheaper send? Specialists beat suites that do all four poorly.
- Will someone still open it during a campaign week, or only during a webinar?
- Would we pay for it at a 2–8 person marketing team, not just at a 200-person lifecycle studio.
- We docked tools whose happy path is unedited AI blasts to an unsuppressed list.
The longer rubric lives in how we rank. Affiliate money does not buy a row in the table.
Honorable mentions
ActiveCampaign
Serious automation ESP. A Mailchimp-or-HubSpot conversation for operators who live in automations. Not a fifth AI trophy.
Jasper / ChatGPT
They will write the email. They will not send it, suppress it, or own the graph. See the writing ranking.
Copy.ai
GTM research-to-first-touch. Ranked on sales and writing. Wrong default for a lifecycle program.
