Stack guide · 2026
A sane AI stack for a marketing team (2026)
Start with ChatGPT. Add the next seat only when you can name the bottleneck — voice, owned channels, catalog creative, GTM drafts, video, or the wire. A ladder, not a 40-tool OS.

- How we rank
ChatGPT
8.3/10Best default writing seat
The default brain. Still the right first writing seat for most people.
ChatGPT is the baseline every other AI writing tool has to beat. For a solo operator with a decent brief, Plus is still the correct first purchase in 2026: drafts, rewrites, outlines, and the ugly first pass on a landing page. Image generation in the same tab is a different review — ChatGPT Images on the 2026 image ranking. Claude vs ChatGPT is the two-way fight if the other tab in the meeting is Anthropic. ChatGPT vs Gemini is the two-way if the other tab is Google. Perplexity vs ChatGPT is the two-way if the other tab is a research engine. On a coding desk it is a helper tab, not an IDE — that ranking is AI coding. On an SEO desk it is a draft helper, not a content-score platform — that ranking is AI SEO.
- Best for
- Anyone who needs a strong general writer, researcher, and editor in one tab.
- Skip if
- Several people have to sound like the same company every week — that is Jasper's job.
Why it ranks
- The best generalist writer most operators will actually open
- Research, drafting, and editing in one thread beats a template farm
- Plus is cheap enough that 'should we buy a copy tool' is a real question
Watch-outs
- No shared brand voice unless you build the habit yourself
- Easy to publish confident filler if nobody owns the facts
- Not a campaign system, a sequencer, or a style-guide desk

Jasper
8.4/10Best for brand voice
Brand-safe marketing copy at campaign scale.
Jasper is the grown-up cousin of the 2021 copy-AI boom. It still writes ads, emails, and landing pages, but the product that matters now is the brand-voice layer: tone, forbidden phrases, product facts, and campaign briefs that keep a five-person content team from sounding like five different interns.
- Best for
- In-house marketing teams that already have a brand voice and need volume.
- Skip if
- You mainly need research, coding, or one-off drafts — ChatGPT is cheaper.
Why it ranks
- Strong brand-voice controls once you train them
- Campaign workflows beat a naked chatbot for marketing teams
- Templates for ads, landing pages, and email that non-writers can actually use
Watch-outs
- Pricey compared with ChatGPT or Claude for similar raw drafting
- Long-form can still sound samey without a tight brief
- Image and video features are extras, not the reason to buy

Klaviyo
8.9/10Best ecommerce CRM
Email and SMS for ecommerce, now with a serious AI layer.
Klaviyo is not 'an AI tool.' It is the ecommerce CRM that added AI in the places that matter: segments, subject lines, product recommendations, and (carefully) content. That is why it leads our ecommerce ranking, the 2026 marketing stack, and the AI email ranking. The brands making money on owned channels already live here; the AI features are leverage, not the reason the category exists.
- Best for
- Shopify-class brands that make money from owned channels.
- Skip if
- You send a monthly newsletter from Mailchimp and that is the whole program.
Why it ranks
- Still the default marketing OS for serious ecommerce
- AI helps with segments, content, and predictions — on top of a real platform
- SMS, email, and reviews in one customer graph
Watch-outs
- Bills grow with your success, which feels like a tax
- You can over-message if you turn every AI suggestion on
- B2B / non-commerce CRM use is a stretch

Copy.ai
8.1/10Best for GTM workflows
GTM workflows dressed up as a writing tool.
Copy.ai outgrew the headline-generator era. The current product is a go-to-market workflow engine: pull in account context, enrich it, and spit out emails, one-pagers, or briefings a BDR can actually send. If you are trying not to buy it, Copy.ai alternatives is the decision page — Jasper, ChatGPT, Writesonic, Claude, Clay, Grammarly, and when this seat still wins. Copy.ai pricing is the 2026 plan ladder (Chat versus Growth versus Enterprise).
- Best for
- RevOps and growth teams automating outbound research and first drafts.
- Skip if
- You wanted a simple copywriter and nothing else — the GTM layer will feel like homework.
Why it ranks
- Workflows can research accounts and draft sequences, not just slogans
- Better fit for sales and RevOps than most 'copy' tools
- Generous way to prototype a GTM process before you hire it out
Watch-outs
- The product story keeps shifting — copy tool, then GTM platform
- Workflow builder has a learning curve
- Output still needs a human who knows the account

Pictory
7.6/10Best for blog-to-video
Turn a blog or script into a decent social video.
Pictory does one job well: it turns a script or URL into a captioned video with stock b-roll and a voice. For teams sitting on a blog archive and a social calendar, that is a real bottleneck-remover.
- Best for
- Content marketers who need lots of acceptable video, not a film.
- Skip if
- You have a designer, a real editor, or brand-film standards.
Why it ranks
- Blog-to-video is genuinely faster than opening Premiere
- Captions, stock, and voiceover in one pass
- Good enough for YouTube explainers and LinkedIn native video
Watch-outs
- Looks like AI video if you do not swap stock and tighten pacing
- Not a substitute for product shoots or brand films
- Voiceovers still have that 'explainer energy'

People search 'AI stack for marketing team' after a vendor demoed an operating system. The honest 2026 stack is smaller: a brain you already open, then one seat per bottleneck you can name. If you cannot name the bottleneck, you are not shopping for a stack. You are shopping for a slide.
This is a ladder, not a dump. The marketing ranking is the scored campaign table — Klaviyo, Jasper, Photoroom, Copy.ai, Pictory. The writing, video, email, and automation rankings are the longer versions of each rung. Read this one if you are trying to not buy five tools in one quarter — or to add the second one on purpose.
Start here
ChatGPT Plus. Most 'we need an AI marketing stack' tickets are this ticket with extra procurement. Drafts, outlines, subject lines, a first pass on the landing page, a recut of the brief. Plus is $20. Custom GPTs are close enough to a voice file for one person. They are not a five-person brand desk, a customer graph, or a zap platform.
Stay here until a named leak shows up in a staff meeting: brand review is eating the week, owned channels are how you make money and the list is a mess, the ads look like a bedroom floor, the first touch is a repetitive workflow, the blog is a channel you never recut, or nothing is wired. If none of those are true, another logo will not make Tuesday ship.
- Start: ChatGPT Plus — the default marketing brain
- Do not start: a 40-tool 'AI marketing OS,' a second writer, or video before you have something to say
- Honest watch-out: a prettier canvas will not invent a brief, and a stack will not invent an editor
Add the next seat when the bottleneck is named
Add Jasper when several people have to sound like one company
The leak is voice drift across a bench. Brand cards, product facts, campaign canvases. You will pay more per seat than Plus — Pro is roughly $59/month before Business. That is either insulting or obvious. Skip Jasper if you are one person happy in ChatGPT. Skip it if the painful part is outbound research, not the sentence. The writing ranking and Jasper vs Copy.ai are the longer versions. Jasper alternatives if you already know the desk is the wrong shape.
Add Klaviyo when owned channels are how you make money
The leak is the list, the flow, the SMS, the segment — not another headline tool. Klaviyo is the marketing OS on the marketing ranking because the customer graph still prints more money than a generator. Adopt AI segments and subject lines after the flows are right. Skip Klaviyo if you send a monthly newsletter from Mailchimp and that is the whole program. Skip it if you are B2B SaaS looking for a product-led lifecycle tool — HubSpot may already be the operating system. The email ranking is Klaviyo vs HubSpot vs Mailchimp vs Brevo.
Add Photoroom when the catalog and the ads look like a bedroom
The leak is the SKU still, not a cinematic generator. Cutouts, consistent backgrounds, a PDP that can also run. Skip Photoroom if you already have a studio. Skip it if the leak is the social tile around the SKU — Predis lives on the social and ecommerce-ads rankings. Midjourney if the still is taste, not a product. Do not add an 'AI creative suite' because the photo was the fight.
Add Copy.ai when the first touch is a workflow
The leak is research-to-email you will build once. Infobase, account context, a sequence a BDR can send. Treat it as GTM infrastructure with a writing layer, not as Jasper-but-cheaper. Empty infobases invent last year's SKU. Skip Copy.ai if nobody will own the workflow — you will experience it as a confusing writer with extra menus. Clay if the leak is the list, not the sentence. Copy.ai pricing is the plan-by-plan version. Copy.ai alternatives if you already know this seat is the wrong shape.
Add Pictory when the blog is a channel you recut
The leak is production, not ideas. Paste a post, get a storyboard, recut, ship captions. Rank it as a production assistant. Used as a creative director it will embarrass you. Skip Pictory if you needed a presenter on a training script — that is Synthesia. Pictory vs Synthesia is the two-way. The video ranking is the longer pick-by-job. Do not add video because a slide said 'we need AI video' and the blog is still empty.
Add a wire when nothing is connected
Zapier when the job is a reliable zap: form lands, Slack pings, a row in a sheet, an optional AI classify. Make when the zap became a machine — routers, iterators, a canvas you will maintain. n8n when the graph has to live next to the repo. Do not buy an 'AI employee' because the form-to-Slack zap was the fight. The automation ranking and Zapier alternatives are those pages. Skip the wire if the leak was the sentence. A prettier graph will not write the campaign.
What is not a rung
- A second writer because the first one felt cheap. Name the job first. The wrappers skip-list is that page.
- Surfer or Clearscope as a 'marketing AI.' They are writing ops — briefs and scores. Add them when the calendar is SEO pages and someone will write to a brief. SEO ranking.
- An AI scheduling suite because the caption was empty. Buffer queues. It does not invent the campaign. Social ranking.
- A 40-template Chrome extension you will not open in week four
- Vendor 'marketing OS' theater that promises to plan, write, design, send, and report so you do not have to look
Most 'we need an AI marketing stack' tickets are a ChatGPT ticket, a Klaviyo ticket, or a Jasper ticket. The word stack is doing too much work.— Aiacent stack guide, 2026
A 2–8 person desk, in one pass
Solo or two-person: ChatGPT Plus, Grammarly if the box is the leak, Mailchimp if you already have a list, Photoroom if you sell a physical SKU. Stop. A 6–8 person brand-and-growth desk: keep Plus for the people who write alone, add Jasper when review is the tax, add Klaviyo if ecommerce owned channels matter, add Copy.ai only if outbound research is a weekly motion someone will own, add Pictory only if posts already exist. Zapier for the three zaps you will actually map. That is a stack. A slide with twelve logos is a directory.
Verdict
Do not start from a list of logos. Start from ChatGPT. Add Jasper when voice is the bottleneck. Add Klaviyo when owned channels are the business. Add Photoroom when the SKU is the leak. Add Copy.ai when the first touch is a workflow. Add Pictory when you already write things worth turning into video. Add Zapier or Make when nothing is wired. Then read the marketing ranking if you want the scores in one table, writing for the copy desk, video for the recut, email for the send, and automation for the graph.
