Copy.ai pricing (2026): plans, who should buy, and who should not
Chat is a small-team chat seat in the high twenties. The GTM product they demo lives on Growth at four figures. Here is the ladder — and when Plus or Jasper is the honest bill.

- How we rank
Copy.ai
8.1/10Best for GTM workflows
GTM workflows dressed up as a writing tool.
Copy.ai outgrew the headline-generator era. The current product is a go-to-market workflow engine: pull in account context, enrich it, and spit out emails, one-pagers, or briefings a BDR can actually send. If you are trying not to buy it, Copy.ai alternatives is the decision page — Jasper, ChatGPT, Writesonic, Claude, Clay, Grammarly, and when this seat still wins. Copy.ai pricing is the 2026 plan ladder (Chat versus Growth versus Enterprise).
- Best for
- RevOps and growth teams automating outbound research and first drafts.
- Skip if
- You wanted a simple copywriter and nothing else — the GTM layer will feel like homework.
Why it ranks
- Workflows can research accounts and draft sequences, not just slogans
- Better fit for sales and RevOps than most 'copy' tools
- Generous way to prototype a GTM process before you hire it out
Watch-outs
- The product story keeps shifting — copy tool, then GTM platform
- Workflow builder has a learning curve
- Output still needs a human who knows the account

Jasper
8.4/10Best for brand voice
Brand-safe marketing copy at campaign scale.
Jasper is the grown-up cousin of the 2021 copy-AI boom. It still writes ads, emails, and landing pages, but the product that matters now is the brand-voice layer: tone, forbidden phrases, product facts, and campaign briefs that keep a five-person content team from sounding like five different interns.
- Best for
- In-house marketing teams that already have a brand voice and need volume.
- Skip if
- You mainly need research, coding, or one-off drafts — ChatGPT is cheaper.
Why it ranks
- Strong brand-voice controls once you train them
- Campaign workflows beat a naked chatbot for marketing teams
- Templates for ads, landing pages, and email that non-writers can actually use
Watch-outs
- Pricey compared with ChatGPT or Claude for similar raw drafting
- Long-form can still sound samey without a tight brief
- Image and video features are extras, not the reason to buy

ChatGPT
8.3/10Best default writing seat
The default brain. Still the right first writing seat for most people.
ChatGPT is the baseline every other AI writing tool has to beat. For a solo operator with a decent brief, Plus is still the correct first purchase in 2026: drafts, rewrites, outlines, and the ugly first pass on a landing page. Image generation in the same tab is a different review — ChatGPT Images on the 2026 image ranking. Claude vs ChatGPT is the two-way fight if the other tab in the meeting is Anthropic. ChatGPT vs Gemini is the two-way if the other tab is Google. Perplexity vs ChatGPT is the two-way if the other tab is a research engine. On a coding desk it is a helper tab, not an IDE — that ranking is AI coding. On an SEO desk it is a draft helper, not a content-score platform — that ranking is AI SEO.
- Best for
- Anyone who needs a strong general writer, researcher, and editor in one tab.
- Skip if
- Several people have to sound like the same company every week — that is Jasper's job.
Why it ranks
- The best generalist writer most operators will actually open
- Research, drafting, and editing in one thread beats a template farm
- Plus is cheap enough that 'should we buy a copy tool' is a real question
Watch-outs
- No shared brand voice unless you build the habit yourself
- Easy to publish confident filler if nobody owns the facts
- Not a campaign system, a sequencer, or a style-guide desk

People search 'Copy.ai pricing' for two reasons, and only one of them is 'what does Chat cost.' The other: a demo showed workflows, infobases, and a GTM motion, and the quote did not look like a writing seat. If you do not name which meeting you are in, you will buy Chat because it is in the high twenties and then bounce off a product that lives on Growth, or you will take a four-figure quote because someone Googled 'AI copywriter.'
This is a pricing page, not a lab. We checked the public Copy.ai pricing page on 19 September 2026. Vendors move packs. Confirm the live numbers on copy.ai/pricing before you sign. We will not invent a word cap, a credit multiplier, or an Impact link we do not have. Copy.ai alternatives is the decision page if you are trying not to buy it. Jasper vs Copy.ai is the two-way if marketing and sales are both in the room. The tool review is /tools/copy-ai.
The public ladder we checked
The page we saw leads with Chat, then Growth / Expansion / Scale, then Enterprise. Chat is the small-team chat seat. Growth is where workflow credits show up in public packaging. Enterprise is the security, API, and implementation conversation. A limited free or trial taste has existed in prior years; the 2026 public grid we checked starts at paid Chat. Do not plan a rollout on a screenshot from a 2023 blog.
- Chat: about $29/month billed monthly, or about $24/month billed annually ($288/year). Listed as 5 seats, unlimited words in chat, unlimited chat projects, and access to OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini models.
- Growth: about $1,000/month ($12,000/year). Listed as 75 seats, unlimited chat, and 20,000 workflow credits per month.
- Expansion: about $2,000/month ($24,000/year). Listed as 150 seats and 45,000 workflow credits per month.
- Scale: about $3,000/month ($36,000/year). Listed as 200 seats and 75,000 workflow credits per month.
- Enterprise: quote. The page we saw listed guided implementation, API and bulk workflow runs, a long integration list, unlimited customizable workflows, designated support, and enterprise security.
Who should buy which plan
Buy Chat if you needed a shared GTM chat, not a platform
A handful of people, unlimited chat, projects, a taste of the models. This is the plan that looks like 'Copy AI cost 2026' in a spreadsheet next to Plus. It is not Plus. Five seats are already a team. It is also not the workflow engine in the sales deck. Skip Chat if you are one person with a brief — ChatGPT Plus is $20 and you already have the habit. Skip it if the painful part is a reusable research-to-first-touch motion you will run every week. That meeting is Growth.
Buy Growth if someone will own the workflows
This is the first public plan where workflow credits are the point. Seventy-five seats is a packaging number, not a reason to invite the whole company. The constraint you will actually feel is credits and the morning you spend building one workflow you trust. Empty infobases invent last year's SKU. Skip Growth if nobody will maintain the graph. Skip it if the leak is brand voice — that is Jasper, and Jasper's honest marketing seat is still a few dozen dollars, not four figures, until Business. Skip it if the leak is the list — that is Clay on the sales ranking.
Buy Expansion or Scale if you are already credit-bound
These are volume steps on the same product: more seats, more workflow credits. Do not jump here from a Chat trial because the annual discount looked tidy. Jump here when Growth's credit pack is the bottleneck and the workflows are already earning the week. If you cannot show a workflow that a BDR actually sends, you are not credit-bound. You are demo-bound.
Buy Enterprise if security, API, or implementation is why Chat failed
Guided jumpstart, bulk runs, API, designated support, the security packet. This is a platform sale. Treat it like one. Writer is the other enterprise conversation when the job is brand locks, not GTM workflows. Do not buy Enterprise because the homepage said 17 million users. Buy it because legal already asked where the payload goes.
Copy.ai cost versus the seats people actually mean
Versus ChatGPT Plus ($20): Plus wins for one person and a brief. Copy.ai Chat wins only if a small team needed a shared GTM chat and will actually use projects. Custom GPTs are not an infobase. They are also not $1,000/month.
Versus Jasper (Pro about $59/seat, Business custom): Jasper is the brand desk. Copy.ai is the GTM motion. The cheaper logo is usually the wrong reason. If brand review is the tax, Jasper is the bill. If account research-to-email is the tax, Copy.ai Growth is the bill. Jasper vs Copy.ai is the longer split. Forcing one trophy is how you buy a copy desk for a RevOps problem.
Versus Clay: Clay prices like a GTM construction kit. Copy.ai drafts the motion once you have context. Buying Copy.ai because bounce rates are a list problem is how this category wastes a quarter. Sales ranking.
- Honest Chat buyer: a small GTM or growth pod that will live in chat and projects
- Honest Growth buyer: RevOps or growth who will build and maintain workflows
- Leave: solo operators (Plus), brand desks (Jasper), list problems (Clay), anyone who wanted five headline variants
Most 'what does Copy.ai cost' tickets are a ChatGPT Plus ticket or a Growth ticket. The word pricing is doing too much work if you have not named the job.— Aiacent pricing guide, 2026
What we will not do on this page
- Invent a lab that timed 40 workflows or a 'value score' we did not run
- Paste a fake Impact, PartnerStack, or ShareASale URL. Until a real partner link is set, the CTA goes to copy.ai
- Promise Chat will grow into Growth if you click enough templates
- Treat annual billing as a reason to buy a job you do not have
Verdict
Taste chat on Chat only if a small team needed a shared GTM tab — and even then, run Plus on the same brief first. Buy Growth when a repetitive research-to-first-touch motion is eating the week and someone will own the workflow. Buy Expansion or Scale when credits are the constraint, not the slide. Buy Enterprise when security or API is the meeting. Stay on ChatGPT if you are one person. Buy Jasper if the leak is voice. Then read Copy.ai alternatives if you are trying not to buy it, Jasper vs Copy.ai if both buyers are in the room, and the tool review before you churn.
