Is Figma AI worth it in 2026? Credits on the file, not leftover Magician
Figma AI is worth it when the file is already Figma and people will spend included Full-seat credits — including Make. It is not worth it as a cheaper Canva, a Magician plugin, or Galileo you hoped still billed. Starter is a taste. Professional Full is the honest first paid rung. Here is the split — and the skip-ifs.

Figma AI
8.0/10Best AI inside the Figma file
Credits on the file you already design in — Make, not a leftover Magician SKU.
Figma AI is the assistant we would buy when the work is already a Figma file: a first frame, a rewrite on the canvas, Figma Make from a prompt, an image edit you will still crop. Credits ride the seat. Figma Make is included on Full seats on paid plans — not a second invoice. Mixing that up is how you buy Organization so AI felt included and still paste from ChatGPT into a frame, or hunt a leftover Magician plugin because a 2023 blog said that was Figma AI.
- Best for
- Product and brand teams whose source of truth is already a Figma file and will spend included Full-seat credits there — including Figma Make.
- Skip if
- You needed a Tuesday marketing tile, a chat-to-shipped web app, or a Magician plugin you hoped was still a separate checkout.
Why it ranks
- The assistant sits on the frame, the library, and Figma Make — not a second canvas you will forget
- Included credits on every seat are a real taste. Make is on the Full seat, not a peel-off SKU
- Dev and Collab seats exist so you do not buy Full for a commenter
Watch-outs
- Seat credits are personal, reset monthly, and do not pool. A quiet designer still burns the allotment
- Not Canva. A carousel still wants the marketing canvas
- Magician the plugin is not a 2026 checkout. Diagram folded into Figma AI
Product look
Figma AI
Figure slot. No vendor screenshot until we have a rights-cleared file.
People search 'is Figma AI worth it' or 'is Magician worth it' after a first frame actually shipped from a prompt, or after finance asked why a design system now sits next to Canva Pro at $144 a year and Midjourney Standard at $30. Those are different tickets. If you do not name whether the leak is a product UI in a file you already open, a Tuesday marketing tile, or a leftover Diagram plugin, you will climb to Organization so AI felt included — or skip a working Make habit because a blog said Canva won design.
This is a buyer decision, not a lab. On Aiacent, Figma AI scores 8.0 as the AI inside the Figma file. Canva Magic Studio scores 8.2 as the everyday marketing canvas. Uizard scores 7.4 as text-to-UI if you do not already live in Figma. Relume scores 7.6 as a sitemap-to-Webflow start. Is Canva Pro worth it, Canva alternatives, Midjourney alternatives, and the design ranking are the graphic desks. Figma vs Canva is the two-way if both invoices are already in the deck. Read this one if the question is Figma's AI credits — including Make — not Magician as a 2023 plugin.
The public ladder we checked
| What you are buying | What Figma publishes | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | Free — 150 AI credits/day, up to 500/month | A taste. Unlimited drafts, not unlimited files. Not a Make desk you will ship from |
| Professional Full seat | $16/mo on the annual toggle + 3,000 credits/mo. Dev $12 / Collab $3 on that same toggle | The honest first paid rung if you already design in Figma. Make is on the Full seat |
| Organization Full seat | $55/mo billed annually + 3,500 credits/mo. Dev $25 / Collab $5 | Libraries, admin, several teams. Not a smarter model. Do not climb so AI felt official |
| Enterprise Full seat | $90/mo billed annually + 4,250 credits/mo. Dev $35 / Collab $5 | Security, SCIM, multi-brand systems. A sales conversation — not darker Make |
| Extra AI credits | Ongoing subscription and/or pay-as-you-go in Admin. Price per credit falls as the tier rises — no public leftover pack sticker | When included seat credits are already the weekday wall. Seat credits stay personal and do not pool |
- Figma AI is not a peel-off SKU. You are buying (or already buying) seats, then spending credits. Figma Make is included on Full seats on paid plans.
- Seat credits belong to the person, reset monthly, and do not roll over. Dev, Collab, and View seats get 500 credits. Starter also has the 150/day cap.
- People still search Magician. Diagram was acquired; the plugin is not a 2026 checkout. This page is Figma AI / Make.
- We quote the annual USD toggle we opened on figma.com/pricing. Monthly Professional is higher. Figma's own regional billing table treats monthly Full as the other Professional number (EUR: €16 annual / €20 monthly). Confirm the cart.
The worth-it test
| If this is true | Figma AI is | Buy instead |
|---|---|---|
| The file is already Figma and someone will still edit a Make draft or an in-file generate every week | Worth it — included credits on the seat you already needed. Full if they will open Make | Stay. Extra credits only when the Admin dashboard is already the wall |
| You are tasting whether anyone will open Make after the all-hands | Not worth climbing — Starter is the taste | Leave Starter the week 500 credits or a locked file is the launch |
| The file is a tile, one-pager, or social resize and the team already lives in Canva | Not worth it as a marketing canvas | Canva Pro. Is Canva Pro worth it. Canva alternatives |
| The still has to look directed | Not worth it as an art director | Midjourney. Midjourney alternatives. The image ranking |
| You needed a first UI and nobody already lives in Figma | Not worth buying Figma just for Make | Uizard. Is Uizard worth it |
| The leak is a sitemap and a Webflow or marketing-site start | Not worth it as Relume | Relume. Is Relume worth it |
| The deliverable is a running web app from a prompt | Not worth it as an app builder | Lovable. Lovable vs Cursor |
| You wanted Magician the plugin, or Galileo the old UI generator | Not worth a leftover listing | This page (Make) or Uizard. Galileo folded into Google Stitch — no leftover $19 Galileo UI plan |
Figma AI is worth it when the expensive part is a blank frame in a file you already pay for
The teams who should use it already live in Figma. The habit is a first frame, a Make file they will still tighten, an image edit they will still crop, a rewrite on a component they already own. Worth it means the credits on Starter, Professional, Organization, or Enterprise — or an Admin top-up when the dashboard is already the wall — are cheaper than another Monday of a blank frame plus a ChatGPT paste. That is a real bill on a product desk. It is not a vibe. It is why we score Figma AI 8.0 as the native file layer, and why this page will not invent a Make-accuracy lab to make the credit meter look complete.
If you cannot point at the files people will open this month, you are shopping for a demo. Starter exists so you can learn whether anyone will ship a frame. Canva Pro exists so you do not buy Figma for a carousel. Uizard exists so you do not migrate a founder mock into a design system you will not maintain.
- Best for: product and brand teams whose source of truth is already Figma
- Skip if: you wanted a Canva tile, a Relume sitemap, a Uizard first draft, or a leftover Magician plugin
- Honest watch-out: seat credits do not pool. Buying Full for every commenter is how you fund unused Make
Figma AI is not worth it as a cheaper Canva — or as Magician you remembered
Canva still wins the everyday marketing tile. Pro at US$144 a year if you are one person; Business if you are not. If the file is a carousel, a one-pager, or a resize, Figma Make is not worth treating as the product. Is Canva Pro worth it. Canva alternatives. Figma vs Canva is the two-way.
The same no applies to Magician. People still type it because Diagram's plugin was the 2023 story. The 2026 seat is Figma AI on a plan you already needed. Do not buy a Community listing, a leftover coupon blog, or Organization because a webinar said Magician louder. Galileo AI the UI generator is also gone as a standalone checkout — Google folded it into Stitch. Is Uizard worth it if you wanted that independent text-to-UI grid.
When Organization, Enterprise, or extra credits is the real question
Professional Full at $16 a month billed annually is the honest first paid file: unlimited files on one team, libraries, 3,000 credits, Make on the Full seat. Buy Professional for the design system you will actually share — not 'for AI.' Starter already includes a credit taste.
Organization at $55 is centralized libraries, admin, several teams, 3,500 credits. Buy it when the org needs those controls. Do not buy it so Make felt more official. Enterprise at $90 is security, SCIM, multi-brand systems, 4,250 credits — a quote conversation on a sales form, not a darker prompt.
Extra credits are an ongoing subscription and/or pay-as-you-go in Admin. Figma's help is blunt: seat credits are used first, they do not pool, they do not roll over, and the subscription price per credit falls as the tier rises. We will not invent a leftover $X / 10k pack. Buy extras when included credits are already the weekday job. Skip them if the leak was a carousel. That carousel is Canva.
What 'worth it' is not
- A Make-accuracy lab. We did not run 400-frame bake-offs or invent a review count.
- Magician as if it were still a 2026 checkout row.
- A coupon hunt. No invented Impact or via= IDs.
- A reason to skip Canva or Relume when those are already the file.
The 30-day tell
After a month, either someone reused a Make draft or an in-file generate on a real Figma file, or the credits reset unused. If you climbed to Organization and nobody opened Make, it was not worth $55. If the team stopped pasting from ChatGPT into a blank frame, it was. That is the whole audit. Is Canva Pro worth it if the other desk was a tile. Is Uizard worth it if nobody had a Figma habit. Midjourney alternatives if the still had to look directed.
Figma AI is worth it when the expensive part is a blank frame in a file you already pay for. It is not worth it when one person wanted a cheaper Canva, leftover Magician, or Galileo you hoped still billed. Mixing those up is how you buy Organization and still paste from a browser.— Aiacent, 2026
Verdict
Worth it: a Figma file you already trust — included credits on Starter, Professional, Organization, or Enterprise; an Admin top-up when the dashboard is the wall. Make stays on the Full seat. Not worth it: a marketing tile (is Canva Pro worth it — Canva alternatives), a directed still (Midjourney alternatives), a first UI with no Figma habit (is Uizard worth it), a sitemap-to-Webflow start (is Relume worth it), Magician or Galileo as a leftover SKU. Then read Figma vs Canva if both logos are already in the deck, and the design ranking if you want the scored graphic desk.
