Midjourney pricing (2026): plans, Fast hours, and who should pay

Basic is about $10. The plan people keep is Standard or Pro. Mega is a Fast-hour bill. Here is Midjourney cost in 2026 — and when ChatGPT Images is the cheaper honest seat.

Best for distinctive stills

The still that looks directed — if you can wait on Discord and a prompt.

Midjourney is still the image generator other tools get compared to when the job is a still that has to look like someone chose it. Campaign moodboards, concept art, a hero that is not a stock-library cousin. It is not a catalog tool, and it is not a typesetter. Midjourney alternatives is the decision page if you are trying not to buy it — or to keep it on purpose.

Best for
Art directors and marketers who need a distinctive hero still, not a catalog cutout.
Skip if
You needed readable type, a product photo from a phone, or a commercially indemnified Creative Cloud workflow.

Why it ranks

  • Still the most distinctive look in the category when the prompt is specific
  • Mood, lighting, and 'this could be a campaign' energy ChatGPT Images rarely hits
  • A real community of people who iterate instead of publishing the first four-grid

Watch-outs

  • Discord-native habits are still the product, even with a web app
  • Type, logos, and product accuracy are not why you are here
  • Commercial terms are a conversation with legal, not a slogan on the pricing page

People search 'Midjourney pricing' because the homepage looks like art direction and the bill looks like GPU time. Those are the same product. You are not buying unlimited magic. You are buying Fast hours, a Relax lane on the plans that have it, and — on Pro and Mega — Stealth. If you do not name whether you needed a campaign hero or four drafts in the Plus tab, you will pay for Discord you will not open, or stay on Basic and rage-quit when 3.3 Fast hours are gone.

This is a cost page, not a prompt guide. Public list prices below were checked against Midjourney's plan docs on 19 September 2026. They change. We do not invent a free trial, a blanket indemnity, or a lab that scored 'realism.' The full review is /tools/midjourney. Midjourney alternatives is the leave-the-grid guide. Midjourney vs DALL·E is the two-way against ChatGPT Images. The image ranking is the scored table.

Monthly list prices and Fast hours from Midjourney's Comparing Plans doc, checked 19 September 2026. Annual billing is about 20% off, paid up front. Unused Fast time does not roll over.
  • There is no useful free plan. Basic is how you taste it.
  • Relax (unlimited, slower stills) starts at Standard. Basic users live and die on Fast.
  • Stealth — keep the grid off the public feed — is Pro and Mega.
  • Companies over $1M gross revenue need Pro or Mega for commercial use. Read the Terms; we are not your lawyer.
  • Extra Fast time is a separate top-up. We will not treat a blog's per-hour rumor as list price.

Who should pay for which plan

Basic — taste it, then upgrade or leave

Ten dollars. 3.3 Fast hours. No Relax. This is a weekend, a moodboard spike, a 'do we even like the look' test. It is not a campaign plan. If you iterate a four-grid the way Midjourney wants, Basic empties fast. Upgrade to Standard or cancel. Sitting on Basic and buying anger is how this category writes Reddit novels.

Standard — the plan most operators should keep

Thirty dollars. Fifteen Fast hours and unlimited Relax. This is the honest individual seat if the still is a weekly habit and you can wait when the queue is slow. Art directors moodboarding, marketers who recut, anyone who will iterate instead of publishing the first render. Skip Standard if the work has to stay off the public feed, or if the company already clears $1M and legal read the commercial clause. Those are Pro tickets.

Pro — Stealth, Fast headroom, and the commercial clause

Sixty dollars. Thirty Fast hours, Relax, Stealth. Buy it when client work cannot live on the explore page, when Fast is the pace, or when the company size makes Pro the commercial plan. Do not buy it because Standard felt junior. Mega is the same idea with more Fast — $120 — for people who already know they burn 30 hours. If you cannot tell that story, you do not need Mega.

When you should not pay Midjourney at all

ChatGPT Images is the cheaper honest seat if Plus is already on the card and you needed a concept still, not a directed hero. Firefly is the seat if legal already lives in Creative Cloud. Photoroom if the job is a white background. Ideogram if the job is words on the image. Paying Midjourney to lose those fights is how you buy a Discord habit and a nutrition-label thread.

Commercial terms are a conversation with legal, not a slogan on the pricing page. Paid plans include commercial use with caveats. We will not pretend a $30 subscription is insurance.

  • Best for: brand and campaign teams that can brief a look, then recut
  • Skip if: you needed a draft in Plus, letters that spell, a catalog cutout, or Firefly next to Photoshop
  • Honest watch-out: Fast hours are the real meter. The sticker is the cover charge
Most 'what does Midjourney cost' tickets are a Standard ticket, a Pro ticket, or a ChatGPT Images ticket. The $10 plan is how you find out which.Aiacent pricing, 2026

Verdict

Taste the look on Basic. Keep Standard if the still is a weekly habit and public Relax is fine. Pay Pro when Stealth or the commercial clause is the job. Mega only if you already burn Fast. Then read Midjourney alternatives if Firefly, Ideogram, or Photoroom are the actual leak, Midjourney vs DALL·E if the other tab is Plus, and the image ranking if you want the scores in one table.
