Frase is the AI SEO seat we recommend when the bill was the objection. Research the SERP, draft, score for Google and (now) AI citations, monitor. The teams that like it are small and will still edit. The teams that hate it turned on a rewrite agent and published a cousin of the #1 result.
We ranked it third because cheap-and-complete is a job. Surfer is the default workflow. Clearscope is the editor grade. MarketMuse is the map. ChatGPT is cheaper still and will invent the SERP — do not 'save money' that way if you needed coverage.
Skip it if you already live in Surfer and the complaint is the writing, not the tool. That is a briefing problem.
