Is lemlist worth it in 2026? A send decision, not an Apollo costume
lemlist is worth it when someone will send sequences this week. It is not worth it as Apollo, Clay, or Instantly theater. Email is the first honest climb. Multichannel is the other channel. Here is the split — and the skip-ifs.

lemlist
7.7/10Best multichannel outbound
Multichannel outbound — email, LinkedIn, a dialer — not an Apollo kit, and not a Clay table.
lemlist is the correct desk when the expensive part is a sequence someone will actually send: email first, then LinkedIn, SMS, a dialer on Multichannel, a deliverability hub that is included, credits you buy when a find succeeds. It is a bad substitute for Apollo when the expensive part is a list-plus-kit this week, and a bad substitute for Clay when the expensive part is a waterfall you will engineer. Mixing those up is how you pay Multichannel at $87 a seat billed yearly and still live in a CSV nobody reviewed.
- Best for
- Outbound teams who will send sequences this week and may add LinkedIn, SMS, or a dialer.
- Skip if
- You needed Apollo's list-plus-dialer kit, or Clay's waterfall, or you have not sent 20 emails yourself.
Why it ranks
- Email and Multichannel stickers are public — $55 / $87 billed yearly on the official page
- 14-day Multichannel trial, no card — a real taste, not a demo video
- Credits are pay-per-success and printed: $0.01, 5 for a verified email, 20 for a phone
Watch-outs
- Not Apollo. If the leak is a list plus a dialer this week, you bought a sequencer costume
- Not Clay. If the leak is a waterfall table, credits here will not invent the construction kit
- Email plan credits are a separate purchase. Treating $55 as 'unlimited data' is how the bill becomes the story

lemlist
Best for. Outbound teams who will send sequences this week and may add LinkedIn, SMS, or a dialer.
Skip if. You needed Apollo's list-plus-dialer kit, or Clay's waterfall, or you have not sent 20 emails yourself.
No vendor screenshot until a rights-cleared file exists at public/figures/lemlist.png. We do not hotlink app UIs.
People search 'is lemlist worth it' after a sequence actually got a reply, or after finance asked why outbound now invoices $87 a seat and a $10 credit pack. Those are different tickets. If you do not name whether you needed a send, a list-plus-kit, or a waterfall table, you will buy Multichannel as a nicer Apollo — or stay on the trial until the 14 days end and Tuesday's outbound still is not a motion.
This is a buyer decision, not a lab. On Aiacent, lemlist scores 7.7 as the multichannel outbound pick. Apollo still wins the kit-this-week job. Clay still wins the table. Copy.ai still wins the first-touch workflow. Is Apollo worth it, Apollo pricing, is Clay worth it, and Clay pricing are the other bills. The sales ranking is the scored table. The outbound stack is the order. Read this one if the question is the lemlist subscription. (is-instantly-worth-it was the brief's other slug. lemlist.com/pricing printed Email / Multichannel stickers we could stand behind. This is the primary.)
The public ladder we checked
| Plan | Public price (confirm cart) | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|
| 14-day trial | $0 for 14 days — no credit card | Full Multichannel. Official FAQ: after the trial you keep the account but cannot send new campaigns. |
| $69/user/month, or $55 billed yearly | The honest first send desk. Credits are a separate purchase — lemlist's own credit guide: no included monthly credits on Email. | |
| Multichannel | $109/user/month, or $87 billed yearly | LinkedIn, SMS, built-in dialer. WhatsApp is an add-on on the official page. 400 credits/user/mo on lemlist's credit guide. |
| Enterprise | Custom quote | SSO, custom roles, 5+ senders, dedicated AM. Not a darker Multichannel toggle. |
| Credits | $10 / 1,000 (1 credit = $0.01) | Verified email 5 credits; phone 20 credits. Pay per success. Intent signals are a separate pack on the same page. |
- Official page: lemwarm and deliverability protection are included on all plans.
- Official credit guide on lemlist.com: trial includes 200 one-time credits; Email includes none monthly; Multichannel includes 400 per user per month.
- Instantly's public outreach cards (instantly.ai/pricing and Instantly help, mid-2026) still lead with Growth about $47 a month for 5,000 emails. That is a different send-volume job. We cite it as a skip-if, not as a lemlist SKU we priced as a substitute.
- We will not invent an Impact URL or a leftover Instantly bundle as a lemlist plan.
The worth-it test
| If this is true | lemlist is | Buy instead |
|---|---|---|
| Someone will send sequences this week and rewrite the first line | Worth it — that is the product. Email after the 14-day trial already sent real mail | Stay on Email. Confirm yearly $55 before finance screenshots $69 |
| You are tasting whether anyone will send | Not worth paying a year — use the 14-day Multichannel trial, no card | Leave the week the trial would end and the sequence is folklore |
| The leak is a list plus sequences plus a dialer this week | Not worth it as the only seat | Apollo. Is Apollo worth it. Apollo pricing. Free is real. |
| The leak is a waterfall table someone will engineer | Not worth it as the only seat | Clay. Is Clay worth it. Clay pricing. The sales ranking. |
| The leak is LinkedIn, SMS, or a dialer on top of a send you already have | Worth it as Multichannel at $87/user/mo billed yearly — after Email already sent | Do not buy Multichannel so Email felt lonely |
| The leak is send volume and unlimited warmup accounts, not multichannel | Not worth it as the only seat | Instantly. Official help: Growth $47/month for 5,000 emails. Confirm instantly.ai/pricing. Different job. |
| The leak is a first-touch workflow, not a sequencer | Not worth it as the only seat | Copy.ai. Is Copy.ai worth it. Copy.ai pricing. |
lemlist is worth it when the expensive part is the send
The teams who should pay treat lemlist like a junior SDR who will actually sit on the sequence: a list you already have, a first line you will still rewrite, warmup that is included, a send that leaves the building. Worth it means Email at $55 a user billed yearly — $660 a year on the official page — is cheaper than another quarter of 'we'll just Apollo it' on a send Apollo is the wrong shape for. That is a real bill on a founder-led or SMB outbound desk. It is not a vibe. It is why we score lemlist 7.7 as the multichannel outbound pick — not the kit pick, not the table pick.
If you cannot point at the campaign you will send this week, you are shopping for a sequencer costume. The 14-day trial exists so you can learn that about yourself — no card, then the send shuts off. The outbound stack still starts with the list you will use. Do not buy Multichannel because a thread said 'AI outbound OS.'
- Best for: desks that will send and rewrite this week
- Skip if: you have not used the trial, or the leak is Apollo / Clay / Instantly / Copy.ai
- Honest watch-out: an Email year that sits as unused sequences is more expensive than Apollo Free plus 20 emails you sent yourself
lemlist is not worth it as Apollo, Clay, or Instantly
Apollo wins the kit this week — Free is real; Basic is $49 a seat billed annually on the ladder we cite on Apollo pricing and is Apollo worth it. Clay wins the waterfall — Launch is $185 a month or $167 billed annually on Clay pricing. Instantly wins send-volume plus unlimited accounts — Growth $47 a month on Instantly help. Buying Multichannel because Apollo felt 'not AI enough' is how you miss the list you needed. Buying Email because Clay felt 'too spreadsheet' is how you pay $55 a month for a sequence with no table. The sales ranking is the scored version. The outbound stack is the order.
The same no applies if the file was a first-touch workflow (Copy.ai), a $20 draft (ChatGPT), or Gong coaching from the tape. A nicer sequence will not invent an offer. Mixing those up is how this category wastes a quarter.
When Multichannel, Enterprise, or credits are the real question
Multichannel is how lemlist sells the other channel. $87 a user billed yearly. Official extras: LinkedIn, SMS, a built-in dialer; WhatsApp is an add-on; 400 credits per user per month on the credit guide. You are buying the channel, not a prettier Email. Buy it when LinkedIn or the dialer is named. Skip it if you have not sent on Email. Skip it if the fifth sender is folklore.
Credits are the data meter. $10 per 1,000. A verified email is 5 credits ($0.05). A phone is 20 ($0.20). Official language: charged when the action succeeds. Email buyers purchase packs. Multichannel includes 400 per user. Intent signals are a separate pack on the same pricing page. Do not treat the seat as unlimited finds. Enterprise is a quote — SSO, custom roles, 5+ senders. Buy it when security already asked. Skip it if you wanted the send and not the paperwork.
What 'worth it' is not
- A reply-rate lab. We did not run 400-sequence bake-offs or invent a review count.
- A coupon hunt. If there is a live trial deal it lives on /deals. We do not invent codes or partner URLs.
- A reason to upgrade for lemAgent. AI features spend credits. They are not why you leave Apollo.
- Cheaper than Apollo Free. Apollo Free is $0. lemlist is a send climb. Name the job first.
The 30-day tell
After a month, either someone sent a sequence and opened the replies, or they did not. If Email sat as a $55 Apollo, it was not worth it. If a meeting actually booked because the send left the building, it was. That is the whole audit. Apollo pricing tells you which leftover job is the kit. The outbound stack tells you whether the leak was the list, the enrich, or the send.
lemlist is worth it when the expensive part is a sequence you will actually send. It is not worth it when one person wanted Apollo, a Clay costume, or Instantly volume with a multichannel badge. Mixing those up is how you pay $55 and generate a campaign nobody launches.— Aiacent, 2026
Verdict
Worth it: a sequence you will send — 14-day trial first, Email at $55 a user billed yearly when the trial already sent, Multichannel at $87 billed yearly when LinkedIn or the dialer is named. Credits as a pack, not a surprise. Not worth it: tasting the send (leave the trial), a kit this week (is Apollo worth it — Apollo pricing), a waterfall (is Clay worth it — Clay pricing), volume plus unlimited accounts (Instantly — confirm the cart), a first-touch workflow (is Copy.ai worth it). Then read the outbound stack if you are trying not to buy five outbound logos, and the sales ranking if you want the scores.
