Predis.ai vs Buffer (2026): tile vs queue — which job?
Predis makes the tile. Buffer queues the week. They are not interchangeable, and the cheaper $5 channel is usually the wrong reason to choose if nobody designed the post.

At a glance
| Predis.ai | Buffer | |
|---|---|---|
| Score | 7.8/10 | 8.2/10 |
| Best for | Social teams that need a lot of acceptable posts and carousels, not a brand film. | Small and mid-market teams that need a calendar they will actually open, plus AI drafts. |
| Skip if | You have a designer and a brand desk already shipping, or you needed a scheduler first. | The leak is creative or video, not the queue — or you already pay for Sprout / Hootsuite and the calendar is fine. |
| The job | Best social-native creatives | Best AI-assisted scheduler |
| From | Paid plans typically start around $30/month; annual is the honest price | Free for a few channels; Essentials is typically a few dollars per channel per month |
Predis.ai
7.8/10Best social-native creatives
Social-native posts and creatives from a URL, an offer, or a blank calendar.
Predis.ai is a social creative shop: feed it a URL, a product, or an offer and get posts, carousels, and short video-shaped frames. That is a real job for teams whose designer is a shared Canva login and a hope.
- Best for
- Social teams that need a lot of acceptable posts and carousels, not a brand film.
- Skip if
- You have a designer and a brand desk already shipping, or you needed a scheduler first.
Why it ranks
- URL-to-post and offer-to-carousel is faster than a blank Canva file
- Templates that look like social, not like a landing-page generator
- Publishing exists — still weaker than a dedicated calendar
Watch-outs
- Default output is easy to spot if you do not swap the type and the crop
- Brand voice is thinner than Jasper
- Easy to confuse a content mill with a social strategy

Buffer
8.2/10Best AI-assisted scheduler
The social calendar that added AI captions — still a scheduler first.
Buffer is a scheduler that added AI. That sentence is the review. Most 'best AI social media tools' lists bury the calendar under twenty creative apps. The leak for a lot of teams is still: nothing is queued, and Thursday at 4pm is a scramble.
- Best for
- Small and mid-market teams that need a calendar they will actually open, plus AI drafts.
- Skip if
- The leak is creative or video, not the queue — or you already pay for Sprout / Hootsuite and the calendar is fine.
Why it ranks
- A calendar people still open on a Tuesday
- AI assistant for ideas and captions is useful and not the reason to switch
- Honest pricing compared with enterprise suites you will not staff
Watch-outs
- Not a creative studio — generated images are a side feature
- Not a listening or employee-advocacy platform
- AI captions still read like AI captions if you do not edit

Both products will put something on Instagram and pretend they read the brief. That is where the overlap ends, and it is why 'Predis vs Buffer' is a bad 2026 question if you have not named the bottleneck. A founder whose week is empty, and a social manager whose designer is a shared Canva login, are different seats. Mixing them up is how you pay Predis Core as a cheaper Buffer and still scramble at 4pm — or buy Buffer Team because a blog said AI creatives and then live in a calendar of posts nobody designed.
This page is the two-way. Buffer pricing is the per-channel math. Is Buffer worth it is the subscription decision. Buffer alternatives is the leave-or-stay guide. On Aiacent, Buffer scores 8.2 as the AI-assisted scheduler. Predis.ai scores 7.8 as the social-native creative shop. The social ranking is the scored table next to Opus Clip and Pictory. Read this one if both logos are already in the deck.
The public bills, in one place
Buffer Free is $0 — 10 scheduled posts per channel, 100 ideas, one user, AI Assistant already on. Essentials is $5 per channel per month billed annually ($60 a year per channel); the monthly toggle is higher. Team is $10 per channel billed annually ($120 a year) when a second login has to approve. Those rows were checked against buffer.com/pricing on 19 September 2026 — the same pass as Buffer pricing and is Buffer worth it. Channels are the meter. LinkedIn plus Instagram is two channels, not one 'social' seat.
Predis Core is $24 a month on the yearly offer we saw ($32 shown as the regular monthly), $288 billed yearly — 1,300 credits, one brand, publish to 10 channels, no auto-posting. Rise is $55 a month yearly ($79 regular), $664 billed yearly — 3,200 credits, up to four brands. Enterprise+ is $212 a month yearly ($249 regular), $2,540 billed yearly — 10,000 credits. Those rows are from predis.ai/pricing, checked 19 September 2026. Offers move. Confirm checkout. A 7-day trial takes a card and charges when day 7 ends. Credits are the other meter: 15 per image or carousel slide on the tables we checked. We will not reprint a blog's older $19 Core as if it were the live card.
| If this is the social job | Buy | Skip |
|---|---|---|
| The calendar is empty and someone will actually queue | Buffer (Free to prove; Essentials when post 11 is the launch) | Predis as a cheaper scheduler |
| The tile or carousel still looks like a Google Doc | Predis (trial to recut; Core when the credit pool is the week) | Buffer as a designer |
| A client or a manager has to say yes before it ships | Buffer Team — only after someone will run the approval | Predis Core as an approval suite |
| The job is seeing the Instagram grid before it goes live | Neither as the first seat — Later. Buffer alternatives | Either logo as a visual planner |
| The leak is a Reel recut from a blog or a long video | Neither — Pictory or Opus Clip. The social ranking | Either logo as a video desk |
| Listening, a staffed inbox, employee advocacy | Neither — Hootsuite or Sprout. Buffer alternatives | Buffer Team as a listening suite |
| Several brands, auto-post, a fatter credit pool | Predis Rise if creation-plus-publish is already the week | Buffer Essentials as a creative mill |
Buy Buffer if the expensive part is the empty week
Buffer earns the desk when the job is a written calendar someone will actually open: slots, a first comment, a week you can see on Tuesday. The teams that like it treat Buffer like a board the assets land on. The teams that hate it wanted a designer and got a caption model.
Free is a real taste — ten posts, AI Assistant already there. You will pay for Essentials when the 11th post is the launch ($5 a channel billed annually). Skip Buffer if the leak is the tile — that is Predis. Skip it if the leak is the grid — that is Later. Skip it if the leak is listening — that is Hootsuite. Is Buffer worth it is the subscription version of this paragraph. Buffer pricing is the longer channel bill. Buffer alternatives names the forks.
- Best for: founders and small marketing teams who still post themselves and will keep channel count honest
- Skip if: you have not filled Free's ten posts, or the leak is the tile / the grid / the Reel
- Honest watch-out: an Essentials week that sits empty is more expensive than Free plus a native post
Buy Predis if the expensive part is the tile
Predis earns the 2026 seat when the painful part is making the post: paste the URL or the offer, get a carousel or a frame, swap the type so it does not look like every other Predis account. That is why we score it 7.8 as the social-native creative shop, not the calendar pick. Empty briefs at $24 a month invent last year's gradient. Publishing exists and is still weaker than a dedicated calendar.
The trial is the honest taste — seven days, card on file. Core is the first individual seat when 1,300 credits cover the month and you will still publish somewhere. Rise is several brands and auto-post. Skip Predis if nobody will rewrite the hook. Skip it if the file is already a Canva file — design ranking. Skip it if you needed a scheduler first. The social ranking is the longer creative table.
- Best for: ecommerce and local brands that need a lot of product-shaped posts, and will recut
- Skip if: you needed a queue, a visual grid, a listening inbox, or a brand desk across ads and email
- Honest watch-out: 15 credits a still adds up. A week of regenerations will teach you the meter
Head-to-head, by job
Nothing is queued
Buffer. It is the board. Predis will give you a pile of tiles and leave you posting native at 4pm. If the painful part is Thursday, you are in Buffer's lane. Buying only Core because $24 felt like 'AI social' is how you miss the calendar you booked the meeting for.
Nobody designed the post
Predis — if you will still swap the type and rewrite the hook. Buffer's AI Assistant will draft a caption. It will not invent a carousel. If the painful part is a Google-Doc-looking tile, you are not a Buffer-first creative buyer. If the painful part is the empty week, stay on Buffer.
Approvals, a second login, a client
Buffer Team. Ten dollars a channel billed annually. Predis lists unlimited members and approval tools on higher rows — confirm the plan grid on predis.ai/pricing. Do not buy Predis Rise as a cheaper Buffer Team if the leak is the approval, not the tile. Do not buy Buffer Team because Core felt lonely.
A Reel, a recut, a long video
Neither as the first seat. Pictory if the source is a post. Opus Clip if the source is a webinar you already filmed. Predis can make short video-shaped frames; it is not that desk. Buffer will not invent the asset. The social ranking is the scored version.
Price, honestly
Buffer Essentials at $5 a channel billed yearly can look cheaper than Predis Core at $24. It is not a savings story. You are buying a queue versus a credit pool. Buffer Free is a real ten-post taste. Predis's trial is a real seven-day taste with a card. Count the empty week — or the undesigned tile — not the homepage numeral. Buffer pricing is the longer channel bill. Is Buffer worth it is the Buffer-only decision.
LinkedIn, Instagram, a personal brand
Buffer if the leak is the slot on more than one network. Predis if this week's carousel is the click. The LinkedIn stack is the creator ladder — ChatGPT first, then Buffer, then Predis, not Taplio as a default. Is Taplio worth it if you already live in a LinkedIn-only loop. The social ranking is the multi-channel table.
What neither tool should be
- Your visual Instagram planner. That is Later. Buffer alternatives.
- Your listening suite. That is Hootsuite or Sprout.
- Your blog-to-Reel or long-to-short desk. Pictory and Opus Clip. The social ranking.
- Your brand desk across ads and email. That is Jasper. The writing ranking.
- A reason to skip the recut. Garbage tiles scale now, which is worse with a credit meter.
Buffer is what we open when the week is empty. Predis is what we open when the tile is empty. Mixing them up is how you buy a calendar of posts nobody designed — or a pile of creatives nobody queued.— Aiacent comparison, 2026
Verdict
Empty week: Buffer — Free to prove, Essentials at $5 a channel billed annually when post 11 is the launch (is Buffer worth it, Buffer pricing). Tile or carousel: Predis — trial to recut, Core at $24 a month billed yearly if the credit pool is the week. Both leaks: both, on purpose. Grid: Later (Buffer alternatives). Reel: Pictory or Opus Clip. Listening: Hootsuite. Then read the social ranking if you want the scores in one table.
