Zapier pricing (2026): Free vs Professional vs Team — and who should pay
Free is a 100-task taste. Professional is the honest individual seat — about $20 a month billed yearly at 750 tasks. Team is a workspace, not cheaper Pro. The expensive mistake is buying an agent pack because the catalog felt complete.

- How we rank
Zapier
8.3/10Best default automation platform
The default zap graph — with AI steps, not an autonomous coworker.
Zapier is still the automation tool we would start a non-technical team on in 2026. Triggers, actions, a catalog that already talks to the SaaS you pay for. The AI layer — Copilot, Agents, AI actions in a zap — is useful when the graph is already honest. It is not a reason to buy Zapier if you needed a chatbot.
- Best for
- Ops and GTM teams that need reliable app-to-app zaps and will treat AI as a step, not a strategy.
- Skip if
- You needed a self-hosted graph, a visual power-user canvas, or Clay for list research.
Why it ranks
- The integration catalog most operators already half-own
- AI steps, Agents, and Copilot sit on a graph people already understand
- Easiest path from 'when this happens' to a working zap this week
Watch-outs
- Task math surprises teams who treated every AI step as free thinking
- Not Make — branching and transforms get expensive or clumsy at scale
- Not an autonomous employee. Empty prompts still invent last quarter's SKU
Product look
Zapier
Figure slot. No vendor screenshot until we have a rights-cleared file.
People search 'Zapier pricing' because they want the $20 number, or because finance asked why a form-to-Slack zap now invoices Professional, a fatter task tier, and an Agents tab as three products. Those are different tickets. If you do not name whether you needed three linear zaps, a shared workspace, or a coworker demo, you will treat Team as a darker Pro — or stay on Free until the 101st task pauses the launch.
This is a cost page, not a lab. Plan names, task bands, and add-on language were checked against zapier.com/pricing and Zapier's own rates page on 19 September 2026. Annual is the numeral they lead with (about 33% off monthly). Task tiers scale; representative rows below. We do not invent an Enterprise sticker, a 400-zap bake-off, or a partner URL. The full review is /tools/zapier. Is Zapier worth it is the buyer-decision sibling. Zapier alternatives is the leave-the-graph guide. Make vs Zapier is the canvas two-way. The automation ranking is the scored desk.
Zapier cost in 2026, at a glance
| Plan | Public price (confirm cart) | Tasks / seats | What you are actually buying |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 100 tasks/mo; 1 user; two-step zaps only | A taste. Not a program. |
| Professional | $19.99/mo billed yearly (750 tasks); $29.99 month-to-month | 1 user; multi-step zaps; premium apps; paths and filters | The honest individual seat |
| Professional at a working load | Common yearly rows: $39 at 1,500 tasks; $49 at 2,000; $89 at 5,000 | Still one user. Live chat on 2,000+ task tiers. | When 750 tasks was the wall, not the canvas |
| Team | $69/mo billed yearly (2,000 tasks); $103.50 month-to-month | Up to 25 users; shared zaps and connections; SAML SSO | A workspace. Not cheaper Pro. |
| Enterprise | Custom quote | Unlimited users; SCIM; annual task limits; observability | A security and ops conversation |
- A task is a successful step — and a programmatic call (Zapier MCP). A five-step zap on 200 form fills is 1,000 tasks, not 200. Failed actions do not count. Triggers, Formatter, Paths, Filters, Delay, Looping, Tables, and Forms do not spend tasks — Zapier's own rates page.
- AI by Zapier and Code by Zapier draw from the same task pool. Many AI steps cost more than one task (model tier and tool calls). Treating every AI step as free thinking is how Professional feels 'expensive.'
- Paid plans can flip to pay-per-task when you blow the band so zaps keep running. Monthly overage is 2.5× the base rate; annual is 1.25×. There is a 3× pause ceiling. Read the rate in billing.
- Agents bill in activities, not tasks. Basic access is on every plan; the paid Agents add-on commonly starts around $33.33/mo billed annually on Zapier's own Agents tab. Chatbots are a second add-on (feature-gated chatbot counts, not a task meter). Price both as a second buying meeting.
- New accounts get a 14-day Professional trial, no card. Team trials start in-product. Cancel the trial if you were only window-shopping.
Stay on Free if the zap is still a test
Free is a real product: 100 tasks a month, unlimited zaps, two-step only, 15-minute polling, Copilot with a daily message cap, basic Agents and Chatbots. Stay here while you prove someone will open run history and the first zap is not a webinar souvenir.
Leave Free the week the 101st task or the third step is the launch, not a surprise — or the week a premium app is the trigger. Do not leave Free because a deck said 'AI automation platform' and showed an agent. If you already live in Make's canvas or a self-hosted n8n box, you are usually not a Zapier Free customer. Zapier alternatives already says so.
Buy Professional when one operator will live in the graph
Professional is the honest 2026 Zapier seat. Multi-step zaps, premium apps, webhooks, filters and paths, Formatter, AI by Zapier, 2-minute polling, email support (live chat from the 2,000-task band). The public lead row is $19.99 a month billed yearly at 750 tasks, or $29.99 month-to-month. Size the tier from last month's actual successful steps, not from a keynote. Common next yearly rows we saw: $39 at 1,500; $49 at 2,000; $89 at 5,000; $129 at 10,000.
Buy it when a form, a ticket, a Slack ping, or a sheet row still needs a graph this month, and someone will map the fields. That is why Zapier still sits first on the automation ranking (8.3) as the default platform. Skip Professional if legal will not let payloads leave a VPC — that is n8n. Skip it if the zap already has five routers — that is Make, and Make vs Zapier is the two-way. Skip it if the row is an account. That is Clay.
- Best for: ops, marketing, and support teams wiring the apps they already pay for
- Skip if: the leak is a branching machine, a hosted graph, a GTM table, or coworker theater
- Honest watch-out: a prettier catalog will not invent a program. Zapier without a mapped field is a demo with a task meter.
Buy Team when a second login, or SSO, is the job
Team is how Zapier sells the workspace. Twenty-five users, shared zaps and folders, shared connections, SAML SSO, priority support, a 2,000-task floor. The public lead row is $69 a month billed yearly, or $103.50 month-to-month. Higher task bands climb the same way Professional does ($119 yearly at 5,000; $169 at 10,000). That is not a darker Pro. It is a different buying meeting.
Buy it when several people already live in the graph and shared connections are the fight. Do not buy it because Professional felt lonely and a webinar said orchestration louder. Mid-market teams often sign Team and then discover they needed three mapped zaps and one owner, not 25 unused seats.
- Best for: ops orgs that already have a bench, shared credentials they should not paste, and a reason security is in the room
- Skip if: you have not published a Professional zap, or the leak is Make's canvas or n8n's box
- Honest watch-out: a 25-seat floor will not invent an owner. Empty folders scale more expensively on Team.
Enterprise, Agents, and Chatbots are other bills
Enterprise is SCIM, app-access controls, observability, annual task limits, a TAM — a quote. Agents bill in activities (Free 400/mo; paid Pro commonly ~$33.33/mo yearly at 1,500 activities). Chatbots are feature-gated counts (Free includes 2; paid tiers add more). None of these is a smarter zap. They are governance or a second product. Is Zapier worth it already says: if you are asking whether Zapier is worth $20, you are not an Enterprise buyer yet.
Professional vs Make Core, as a bill
Make's entry paid row commonly undercuts Professional on the sticker — if you compare 10,000 credits to 750 tasks and ignore what a step costs. That comparison is how this category lies. A Zapier task and a Make credit are not the same unit. AI steps and code time break both meters. A quiet Professional at $20 can beat a sloppy Make iterator. A chatty Zapier AI step on every row can outrun Make Core. Count runs you will actually keep on, then open both sliders. Make pricing is that cart. Make vs Zapier is the job split.
Do not buy n8n to 'save' on Zapier if the job was a zap a marketer will publish. Do not buy Zapier to save on an ops hire if nobody will map the fields. Is Zapier worth it is the buyer-decision sibling of this page.
What we are not pricing
- An Enterprise quote. Anyone who publishes one invented it.
- Per-model AI task rates that live on zapier.com/pricing/rates and move. Read the rate card; we will not freeze a number Zapier treats as illustrative.
- A 2023 'unlimited zaps are free' story. You are buying tasks, then seats, then add-ons.
Most 'what does Zapier cost' tickets are a Professional ticket, a Team ticket, or a Make ticket. The pricing page is doing too much work if you have not named the job.— Aiacent pricing, 2026
Verdict
One operator, three linear zaps, optional AI classify: Professional at the task band you actually burn, annual if that already survived Free. Several people, shared connections, SSO: take the Team conversation. One person proving the habit: stay on Free, then leave if you will not open run history. Branching machine: do not buy a fatter Zapier tier — Make pricing and Make vs Zapier. Graph you will host: n8n vs Zapier. Trying not to buy the graph at all: Zapier alternatives. Then read is Zapier worth it if the fight is the subscription, and the automation ranking if you want the score next to Make and n8n.
