Grok
The live-X / current-events tab — SuperGrok is $30, not a cheaper Plus.

The Aiacent take
Grok is the correct tab when the expensive part is 'what is happening now' — live web, live X, a recap you will still check. It is a bad substitute for ChatGPT when the expensive part is a mixed draft, and a bad substitute for Claude when the expensive part is a long pile that should push back. Forcing a single trophy is how you pay $30 for a third chatbot and still live in chatgpt.com.
We score it 7.7 as the live-X ChatGPT alternative. ChatGPT still wins the default writing seat (8.3). Claude still wins the careful pile (8.2). Perplexity still wins citations you will click (8.0). Gemini still wins the Doc you will not leave (7.9).
Consumer SuperGrok is $30 a month on x.ai/pricing (official plan comparison), checked 19 September 2026 against that public card: higher rate limits, frontier-model access, connectors, Expert, SOC 2 Type I & II, image and video generation. x.ai/grok still says free to try on the web and in the apps, then upgrade to SuperGrok for higher limits and multi-agent. Higher SuperGrok rungs (the Plus / Heavy columns people search) print on the same x.ai/pricing comparison — our live fetch of that URL was Cloudflare-blocked after the SuperGrok $30 row, so we will not invent those stickers. Confirm the cart. X Premium and Premium+ are X subscriptions, not the SuperGrok checkout. The xAI API is a different developer meter. We will not invent an Impact URL or a lab that says Grok 'won' ChatGPT.

Pros
- Live web plus X is the named product, not a plugin you forget to turn on
- Free is a real taste on grok.com before you pay $30
- Imagine / voice / multi-agent sit in the same thread if that is actually the week
Cons
- SuperGrok is $30 — more than ChatGPT Plus, not a discount
- X Premium is a second logo and a second bill. Stacking both is how this page exists
- It is not Claude on a pile, not Perplexity on footnotes, not Cursor on a repo
Who it's for
- Operators whose week is live web / X recaps they will still verify
- People who already bounced off ChatGPT when the question was 'what just happened'
- Anyone who will actually pay SuperGrok for that habit, not for a cheaper Plus costume
Who should skip it
- Anyone whose week is a mixed draft (ChatGPT Plus — $20)
- Anyone whose week is a long pile (Claude Pro) or footnotes (Perplexity Pro)
- Anyone who already pays X Premium+ and thought SuperGrok was included without checking the X bill
What matters in the product
Live web and X
The reason the tab exists. You still open the source. A confident recap can still be wrong.
SuperGrok vs Free
Free is the taste. $30 is higher limits and the frontier seat on the pricing card we cite. Not a $20 Plus clone.
X Premium is another invoice
Grok-inside-X is not SuperGrok-on-grok.com. Confirm help.x.com and the SuperGrok cart before you pay twice.
Verdict
Buy SuperGrok when live web / X is the named leak. Stay Free until that habit is real. Do not buy it as a cheaper ChatGPT, and do not stack it on X Premium without reading both bills.
