Screen Studio
Polished Mac screen recordings — zooms, cursor, a demo that looks directed.
The Aiacent take
Screen Studio is a Loom alternative only for a specific file: a product demo that has to look expensive. Auto-zoom, a pretty cursor, an export you would put on a landing page. That is the job. It is not a team recorder, and it is not an AI editor.
We scored it on the Loom page so a 'best Loom alternatives 2026' search does not send a marketing video to Tella and then wonder why the cursor still looks like a raw screen share. Tella is the everyday seat. Descript is the transcript. Riverside is the guest.
Skip it if the video is a standup. Skip it if you are not on a Mac. Skip it if you thought this was Descript with nicer motion.
Pros
- Automatic zooms and cursor that make a two-minute demo look directed
- The honest pick when Loom looked cheap on a launch video
- Simple enough that a founder will finish the export
Cons
- Mac-only. A Windows team buying this is how the thread dies
- Barely 'AI.' Do not buy it because a list said 'AI Loom alternative'
- Wrong for standups, support replies, and interviews
Who it's for
- Founders cutting a launch or a changelog demo on a Mac
- Marketers who needed one pretty walkthrough, not a video CMS
Who should skip it
- Cross-platform teams that needed a Loom habit (Tella)
- People editing interviews as text (Descript)
- Anyone who needed a guest in another city (Riverside)
What matters in the product
Motion that looks directed
Zooms and cursor. This is the product. If you wanted a bot to write the script, you are on the wrong page.
Mac app
Not a browser recorder. If the team is on Windows, this row is a no.
Verdict
The polished Mac demo. Buy it when Loom looked cheap on a launch video. Do not buy it as a team recorder or an AI editor.
