Shopify Magic
AI baked into the store you already run.
7.7/10Best built-in merchant AIUpdated September 12, 2026
The Aiacent take
Shopify Magic is a bundle of AI features inside Shopify: copy, images, store Q&A via Sidekick. We rank it third in ecommerce on purpose. It is the correct default and a weak destination. Use it to unblock a listing. Use dedicated tools when the channel is how you make money.
Pros
- Zero extra vendor — it is in the admin
- Product-copy and image helpers that merchants will actually find
- Sidekick is handy for 'how do I do this in Shopify' questions
Cons
- Good enough, rarely best in class
- You still want Klaviyo for lifecycle and Photoroom for catalogs
- Easy to publish bland AI product descriptions at scale
Who it's for
- Solo merchants
- Small catalogs
- Anyone already paying for Shopify
Who should skip it
- Brands with a retention team (Klaviyo)
- Catalogs that live or die on photography (Photoroom)
What matters in the product
Product content
Draft descriptions from a few bullets. Edit like you mean it — Google and customers both notice filler.
Sidekick
An in-admin assistant for Shopify tasks. Surprisingly useful; not a strategist.
Verdict
A solid included extra. Never the reason to stay on Shopify, and never the only tool in a serious stack.
