Is Bardeen worth it in 2026? A scrape-and-enrich desk, not a cheaper Zapier

Bardeen is worth it when the expensive part is a list you will scrape, enrich, and drop in a sheet. It is not worth it as a Zapier substitute, a Make canvas, or a Clay waterfall. Free is 100 credits. Premium is the working GTM rung. Here is the split — and the skip-ifs.

Best GTM scrape-and-enrich playbooks

Browser playbooks that scrape and enrich — not a Zapier catalog.

Bardeen survived the 2026 automation pile-up by winning a job Zapier still treats as a side quest: scrape the page, enrich the row, drop the qualified lead in a sheet. Browser playbooks. Credit-metered agents. GTM busywork you would otherwise copy by hand.

Best for
GTM and ops people whose leak is a list they will scrape, enrich, and drop in a sheet.
Skip if
You needed a 6,000-app zap graph, a visual machine, a self-hosted box, or Clay for the account row.

Why it ranks

  • Scraping and enrichment from the page you already have open — that is the product
  • Credit math is public: 1 credit per row, 3 for enrichment, imports and CSV free
  • Honest free 100 credits so you can learn whether anyone will run a playbook

Watch-outs

  • Not Zapier. A 100-app GTM catalog is not a form-to-Slack graph
  • Enrichment triples the meter. Premium empties faster than a homepage admits
  • Empty playbooks still invent last quarter's title. Watch the sheet

People search 'is Bardeen worth it' after a playbook finally dropped ten qualified rows into a sheet, or after finance asked why a Chrome extension now invoices like a GTM stack. Those are different tickets. If you do not name whether you needed a scrape, three linear zaps, a branching machine, or an account waterfall, you will buy Premium as a cheaper Zapier and still paste from LinkedIn — or stay on Free until credit 101 is the launch.

This is a buyer decision, not a review recap. On Aiacent, Bardeen scores 7.6 as the GTM scrape-and-enrich desk — not first on the automation ranking, and not trying to be. Zapier still leads the default graph (8.3). Make vs Zapier is the canvas two-way. Zapier alternatives is the leave-the-graph guide. Is Zapier worth it and is Make worth it are the subscription siblings. The automation ranking is the scored table. Read this one if the question is the Bardeen subscription.

The public ladder we checked

PlanPublic price (confirm cart)Who it is for
Free$0 — 100 credits every month; unused expireA taste of a playbook. You will hit the wall on a real list.
Basic$10/month — 100 paid credits (scalable on the card)A solo operator proving one scraper. Same credit pile as Free, with a card.
Premium$50/month, or $480/year — 1,000 credits/month (12,000 yearly up front)The honest GTM rung if enrichment is a weekly habit
EnterpriseCustom quote — billed annually on the vendor cardCustom scrapers they build and maintain, premium support, bulk credits
Credit rules from bardeen.ai/pricing, checked 19 September 2026: you always get 100 credits free; unused credits expire at period end; scraper / web search / AI-tool rows cost 1 credit; enrichment costs 3; imports, utilities, and CSV export are free. Paid stickers ($10 Basic, $50 Premium or $480/year for 1,000 credits / 12,000 on annual) are the recurring public cards on that page as of this pass — confirm checkout. Enterprise is a quote. We will not invent a per-seat Business row.
  • The number that decides the bill is credits, not the $10 / $50 headline. Ten profile scrapes, ten enrichments, ten email checks, and four qualified rows exported is 64 credits on Bardeen's own pricing example — not ten.
  • Enrichment is 3 credits a row. A 400-row enrich on Premium is already most of the month. Map last month's list before you treat $50 as cheap.
  • Monthly unused credits expire. Annual Premium fronts the year so a busy quarter can borrow from a quiet one. That is the only rollover story we will stand behind.
  • SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, and CASA Tier 2/3 are on the same pricing page. They are not a reason to buy Enterprise if the leak is twenty rows.
  • We will not guess an Enterprise sticker. Anyone who publishes a mid-four-figure 'typical' Bardeen contract invented it.

Bardeen is worth it when the expensive part is the list you did not build

The teams who should pay treat Bardeen like a junior GTM intern with a credit meter: scrape the directory, enrich the email, qualify the four that match, export the CSV. Worth it means a $50 Premium month (or a $480 year) is cheaper than another week of a sourcer copying LinkedIn into a sheet that still has yesterday's title. That is a real bill on a two-person outbound desk. It is not a vibe. It is why we score Bardeen as the scrape-and-enrich pick — not the default automation platform, not the visual machine, not the account waterfall.

If you cannot point at the list you will actually run this month, you are shopping for Zapier with a Chrome-extension landing page. Free exists so you can learn that about yourself for $0. The founder split is still: buy it when the page is the input and the sheet is the output. Graduate to Zapier, Make, n8n, or Clay when the zap, the canvas, the box, or the account row is the bottleneck, not before.

  • Best for: solo GTM and small ops desks that already live in a browser and a sheet
  • Skip if: you have not burned Free's 100 credits on a real list, or the leak is a zap / canvas / box / waterfall
  • Honest watch-out: a Premium month of unwatched enrichments is more expensive than Zapier Professional at about $20 a year-toggle

Bardeen is not worth it as a cheaper Zapier, Make, n8n, or Clay

Zapier wins three linear zaps across apps you already pay for — Professional commonly $19.99 a month billed yearly at 750 tasks (zapier.com/pricing, same 19 September 2026 pass as Zapier pricing). Make wins routers and iterators. n8n wins the graph you will host. Clay wins the account row. Buying Premium because a blog said 'AI automation' and your ticket was form-to-Slack is how you pay for credits and generate a Drive nobody opens. Buying Basic because the homepage said agents and you have no list is how a $10 month becomes a tutorial. Zapier alternatives names those forks. Make vs Zapier is the two-way if the other logo is already in the meeting. The automation ranking is the scored version.

The same no applies if the leak was a conversational agent that talks to customers (that is not this product), a 6,000-app catalog you will not scrape, or an 'AI employee' that sources, enriches, and emails so you do not have to look. Watch the sheet. An agent that 'qualifies the lead' still ships a personal-email guess if you let it.

When Premium or Enterprise is the real question

Premium is the seat most 'we scrape every week' tickets should have bought. A thousand credits, or twelve thousand up front on the year. Buy it when last month's list already blew Free's 100 credits and someone still opened the sheet. Do not buy it because Basic felt lonely and a demo said Work Intelligence louder. Enrichment at 3 credits a row will empty 1,000 faster than a slide admits. Skip Premium if nobody will map the playbook. A fatter credit pile will not invent a list.

Enterprise is custom scrapers they build and maintain, premium support, bulk credits — procurement. Buy it when the directory is ugly enough that a staff scraper is the product, and legal already asked for the SOC 2 packet. Do not buy it because Premium felt un-enterprise and the motion is still one SDR and a sheet. We will not invent the quote.

What 'worth it' is not

  • A scrape-accuracy lab. We did not run 400-directory bake-offs or invent a review count.
  • A coupon hunt. If there is a live trial deal it lives on /deals. We do not invent codes or partner URLs.
  • A reason to treat an agent as a sourcer. Watch the sheet.
  • Cheaper than Zapier if you needed a zap. It is cheaper than another week of a list you did not build.

The 30-day tell

After a month, either someone opened a saved playbook more than once and shipped a list a human used, or they did not. If the workspace is a graveyard of unread agent runs and a leftover Free login, it was not worth it. If the intern starts from the sheet instead of a blank tab, it was. That is the whole audit. Zapier alternatives tells you which other habit that job belongs on.

Bardeen is worth it when the expensive part is the list you did not build. It is not worth it when one person wanted a zap, a canvas, a hosted box, or a Clay waterfall with a Chrome-extension badge. Mixing those up is how you pay for credits and generate a sheet nobody opens.Aiacent, 2026

Verdict

Worth it: a list that lives on a page and a person who will run the playbook — Free to taste 100 credits, Basic only if one scraper is the proof, Premium if enrichment is a weekly habit, annual if that already survived Free. Custom scrapers or a security packet: take the Enterprise conversation. Not worth it: tasting the sheet and not watching it (Free, and do not ship it), three linear zaps (Zapier — is Zapier worth it), a branching machine (Make — Make vs Zapier), a graph you will host (n8n), an account waterfall (Clay). Then read Zapier alternatives if you are trying not to buy any of these logos, the automation ranking if you want the scores next to Zapier, Make, and n8n, and is Make worth it if the other tab is the canvas.

FAQ

Yes if the list lives on a page and someone will scrape, enrich, and watch the sheet — Premium if that is weekly, Free if you are still proving the habit. No if you needed a zap graph, a Make canvas, n8n, or Clay. 'Worth it' without the list is how this page exists.
