Typeform vs Tally (2026): winner by job for lead-gen forms, not a cheaper-survey trophy
Typeform wins a branded form people finish. Tally wins unlimited free submissions under fair use. They are not interchangeable, and the $28 versus $0 sticker is usually the right first question — then the job.

Typeform
7.9/10Best AI lead form
AI forms people finish — not a free Tally costume, and not a $20 ChatGPT survey.
Typeform is the correct desk when the expensive part is a form someone will finish: one question at a time, AI-assisted create, logic, a branded URL, a response bucket you will actually hit. It is a bad substitute for Tally when the expensive part is unlimited free submissions under fair use, and a bad substitute for ChatGPT when the expensive part is the question. Mixing those up is how you pay Plus at $56 a month billed yearly and still draft the copy in a tab you never connected.
- Best for
- Marketers who will ship a branded form someone actually completes this week.

- You needed Tally's free unlimited submissions, or the leak is the offer, not the form.
Why it ranks
- The product is a form people finish — AI create, logic, a branded climb
- Basic through Growth Flow are public on typeform.com/pricing
- Growth Flow is named: enrichment, Smart Insights, Salesforce, SMS — not a darker Business toggle
Watch-outs
- Response caps are the bill. Basic's 100 is a taste. Treating it as Growth is how the invoice becomes the story
- Not Tally. If the leak is unlimited free submissions, you bought a costume
- A prettier form will not invent the offer. ChatGPT still writes the question

Tally
7.5/10Best free-first form
Unlimited forms and submissions for free — under fair use — not a Typeform brand desk.
Tally is the correct desk when the expensive part is a form you will actually publish this week without a 100-response wall: logic, payments, signatures, uploads, Sheets and Notion, under fair use. It is a bad substitute for Typeform when the expensive part is a branded one-question finish, and a bad substitute for Growth Flow when the expensive part is enrichment. Mixing those up is how you stay on Free until the badge is the story — or jump to Typeform Plus and never use the 1,000.
- Best for
- Founders and marketers who will ship a form this week without a response cap.
- Skip if
- You needed Typeform's branded finish, or Growth Flow enrichment is the brief.
Why it ranks
- Free is the product — unlimited forms and submissions within fair use, logic included
- Pro is a brand-and-collab climb, not a response-bucket costume
- Belgium / GDPR, data in Europe — a real reason some teams stay
Watch-outs
- Not Typeform. If the leftover job is a one-question branded finish, you bought a Notion-shaped form
- Official yearly cards we fetched are in euros; help still prints dollars. Confirm checkout
- Fair use is a real sentence. Treating Free as an unlimited lead mill is how you meet the guideline

Both products will collect an email. That is where the overlap ends, and it is why 'Typeform vs Tally' is a bad 2026 question if you have not named the job. A branded one-question finish someone will complete, and an unlimited free form under fair use, are different seats. Mixing them up is how you buy Typeform Plus because Tally felt 'not AI enough' — or stay on Tally Free and wonder why the waitlist still looks like a Notion page.
This page is the two-way for lead gen. Is Typeform AI worth it is the branded subscription. The founder stack is the order. The marketing ranking is the scored campaign table. Read this one if both form logos are already in the deck.
The public bills, in one place
Typeform Basic is $39 a month or $28 billed yearly — 100 responses, 1 user, AI create, logic. Plus is $79 or $56 — 1,000 responses, 3 users, badge off. Business is $129 or $91 — 10,000 responses, 5 users. Growth Flow is $379 or $266 after a 14-day trial — enrichment and Salesforce on the same 10,000. That is typeform.com/pricing, checked 20 September 2026 — the same ladder as is Typeform AI worth it. Confirm checkout.
Tally Free is $0 — unlimited forms and submissions within fair-use guidelines, logic included. The yearly toggle on tally.so/pricing ('2 months off') lists Pro at €20 a month and Business at €65 a month in the fetch we ran on 20 September 2026. Tally's own help still prints Pro $29/mo and Business $89/mo. Confirm currency at checkout. Pro is badge-off, custom domain, collaboration — not more responses. Business is email verification and retention. That is the same shape as the Tally review.

Buy Typeform if the expensive part is the finished branded form
Typeform earns the 2026 lead-gen seat when the money is in the finish: one question at a time, a branded climb, a response you will open. Basic at $28 a month billed yearly is the first honest climb. That is why we score Typeform 7.9 as the AI lead form — and why this comparison will not pretend that score was a Tally bake-off. Is Typeform AI worth it is the subscription.
Skip Typeform if the weekday job is unlimited free submissions. Skip it if you will not edit the AI create. Skip it if Fillout's 1,000-response Free already is the intake. Skip it if the leftover job is the offer — ChatGPT still writes the question.
- Best for: marketers who will ship a branded form and read it
- Skip if: the leak is unlimited free, or Basic's 100 have not been a wall
- Honest watch-out: $28 vs $0 without naming the job is how this page exists
Buy Tally if the expensive part is publishing this week without a cap
Tally earns the seat when someone will publish today: logic, payments, a waitlist, Sheets, Notion, under fair use, $0. Pro is the badge-and-domain climb, not a response bucket. That is why we score Tally 7.5 as the free-first form. Confirm the euro versus dollar checkout. Skip Tally if the leftover job is Typeform's finish. Skip it if you will treat fair use as a lead mill. Skip it if Growth Flow enrichment is the brief.
- Best for: founders who will publish a form this week without a card
- Skip if: the leak is a branded finish, or Free has not been a wall
- Honest watch-out: fair use is a sentence, not a trophy
What this comparison is not
- A completion-rate lab. We did not run 400-form bake-offs or invent a review count.
- A Fillout trophy. Fillout's paid dollar cards did not render as static numerals on our fetch — we cite Free only, then the official page.
- A reason to migrate a living form this week because a thread said Typeform won 2026.
- A writing-model fight. The founder stack still starts with the offer you will rewrite.
Most 'Typeform vs Tally' tickets are a branded-finish ticket or a free-unlimited ticket. The word form is doing too much work.— Aiacent, 2026
Verdict
Typeform when the expensive part is a branded finish — Free first, Basic at $28 a month billed yearly when the live Free cap is the wall (is Typeform AI worth it). Tally when the expensive part is publishing without a cap — Free first, Pro when the badge is the wall. Neither when the leak is ChatGPT's question, Fillout's seats, or HubSpot's opportunity. Then read the founder stack if you are trying not to buy five form logos, and the marketing ranking if you want the scores.
