The Aiacent take
Coda AI is the correct assistant to buy when the work is already a Coda doc: a table someone will ask, a Pack that already runs, a page the team will not export into ChatGPT every Monday. Paid Doc Makers get a pooled credit allotment. Editors and Free members get a trial. Unlimited AI at $12 per Doc Maker per month is the public 'turn the meter off' row. That is a real 2026 seat for an ops or product desk that already chose Coda.
We score it 7.5 as the Coda-native layer, under Notion AI (8.0) for the company wiki and under ClickUp Brain (7.8) for the work OS. ChatGPT still wins the blank page. Airtable Omni still wins the base. Coda Brain is not this product — it is an enterprise waitlist.
Public AI packaging comes from Coda's own AI credits help (help.coda.io, Coda AI credits), checked 19 September 2026. Workspace Doc Maker rates confirm on coda.io/pricing — that URL currently serves Superhuman Docs plans after the Coda / Superhuman docs combination; we will not invent a leftover Pro $10 / Team $30 grid from a 2024 screenshot. Confirm checkout. We will not invent a Brain sticker or an Impact URL.
Product look
Coda AI
Figure slot. No vendor screenshot until we have a rights-cleared file.
Pros
- The assistant sits on the table, the Pack, and the page you already built
- Included credits on paid Doc Makers are a real taste — not a vanished $10 add-on
- Maker billing still means editors and viewers are free. You are not buying a chatbot per spectator
Cons
- Empty docs still produce confident folklore
- Coda Brain is a separate enterprise platform with a waitlist, not this credit meter
- Not Notion's wiki agent, not ClickUp Brain, not a $20 frontier tab
Who it's for
- Product and ops teams already living in Coda docs, tables, and Packs
- Makers who will ask the page more than they will open another tab
- Admins who will watch the credit pool before they buy Unlimited AI
Who should skip it
- Teams whose wiki is already Notion (Notion AI — is Notion AI worth it)
- Teams whose lists are already ClickUp (ClickUp Brain)
- One person who wanted a cheaper ChatGPT, or a shop shopping Coda Brain as this SKU
What matters in the product
In-doc AI on Maker credits
Ask the table. Rewrite the page. Credits pool across Doc Makers. Empty rows still invent status.
Unlimited AI and extra packs
$2 / $6 / $12 per Doc Maker per month on Coda's credits help. You buy for every Maker. You cannot meter one person.
Coda Brain is a different ticket
Enterprise, permissions-aware, waitlist / sales. Do not treat Brain as the $12 Unlimited row.
Verdict
Buy it as an upgrade to Coda docs you already trust. Do not buy Coda because it added AI, and do not buy Brain as this credit pack.
