Is Airtable AI worth it in 2026? Credits on the base, not a vanished add-on
Airtable AI is worth it when the base is already the company and people will spend the included credits there. Omni build is free. Asking the data is the meter. Airtable AI (Omni, field agents, AI automations) is the correct assistant to buy when the work is already a base: a question on the table, a field that categorizes feedback, a document that has to become records. Building with Omni is free. Asking the data spends credits. That is a real 2026 seat for an ops or marketing ops desk that will not export the base into ChatGPT every Monday.

- The per-seat Airtable AI add-on ended 24 June 2025 on Airtable's own billing page. Team and Business no longer pay a second AI seat. Articles that still sell $8–$10 extra per user are stale.
- Omni build and iterate is 0 credits. Airtable is explicit: you can always build, even if the monthly allotment is gone. Asking the data is the meter — about 10 credits a question, about 200 for a 10-page document on their examples. Those are illustrations, not a lab.

Airtable AI is worth it when the expensive part is the record nobody could query
The teams who should use it already live in Airtable. The habit is a question on the table, a field that labels feedback, a PDF that has to become rows, an agent on a record someone still owns. Worth it means the included credits on Free, Team, or Business — or a $20 extra pack when the dashboard is already the wall — are cheaper than another Monday of exporting the base into ChatGPT. That is a real bill on an ops desk. It is not a vibe. The same no applies to the old add-on. There is no 2026 per-seat Airtable AI SKU for new Team / Business buyers. Climbing to Business at $45 so 'AI felt included' is how you fund unused admin. Buy Business for admin and scale. The credits ride along.
When Team, Business, or a credit pack is the real question
Team at $20 per user per month billed annually is the honest first paid base: 15,000 credits per billable collaborator, pooled. Buy Team for records, automations, and collaborators you will actually bill — not 'for AI.' Omni build is already free on Free.
Business at $45 is admin, a private domain, 20,000 credits. Buy it when the org needs those controls. Do not buy it so Omni felt more official. Enterprise Scale is a quote plus 25,000 credits at list on the help page we checked.
Extra packs start at 10,000 credits for $20 a month or $200 a year. Buy a pack when included credits are already the weekday job. Free workspaces cannot buy packs — they climb to Team. Sales-led orgs call their AE. Skip the pack if the leak was a draft. That draft is ChatGPT.
What 'worth it' is not
