Loom pricing (2026): Starter vs Business vs Business + AI — and who should pay
Starter is a 25-video taste. Business is the honest unlimited seat. Business + AI is filler-word and recap theater unless someone already records. The expensive mistake is paying every Creator for a standup nobody watches.

- How we rank
People search 'Loom pricing' because they remember a free recorder, or because finance asked why a two-minute standup now has a Business + AI row. Those are different tickets. If you do not name whether you needed a face-and-tab link the team already clicks, or a polished Mac demo, or a transcript cut, you will climb to Business + AI for a watermark — or stay on Starter until the 26th video is the launch.
This is a cost page, not a lab. Plan names, Creator billing, and the 17% annual claim were checked against loom.com/pricing, Atlassian Support (Business plan FAQ, Loom Billing FAQ), and the Atlassian Loom pricing calculator on 19 September 2026. Stickers move. Loom.com bills paid users; Atlassian.com bills user tiers — confirm the cart you will actually use. We do not invent an Enterprise quote, a watch-time bake-off, or a partner URL. There is no scored Loom review on Aiacent on purpose: Loom alternatives is the leave-or-stay guide. Presentations is the deck that was never a standup. Productivity is the desk around the link.
Loom cost in 2026, at a glance
| Plan | Public price (confirm cart) | What is capped | What you are actually buying |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $0 | 25 videos/person, 5-minute recordings, 720p, up to 50 members | A taste. Not a team recorder. |
| Business | $18/Creator/mo monthly; about $15 billed yearly | Unlimited videos and length; 4K; branding off | The honest unlimited seat — waveform trim, uploads, passworded links |
| Business + AI | $24/Creator/mo monthly; about $20 billed yearly | Everything in Business plus Loom AI | Titles, summaries, chapters, filler-word and silence removal, edit-by-transcript, meeting recaps |
| Enterprise | Custom quote (annual) | SSO / SCIM, Salesforce, 99.95% SLA, Guard Standard included on the page we saw | A security and admin conversation, not a darker AI toggle |
- You pay Creators and admins. Creator Lite is free — Atlassian Support: up to 50 Lite seats on a Business workspace. Viewers who only click the link are not a seat tax. Do not price a 20-person Slack as 20 Business rows.
- 14-day trial on Business + AI. Enterprise trials are sales-assisted. Cancel before the watermark comes back if you were only window-shopping.
- Annual on loom.com is per paid user. Annual on Atlassian.com is the nearest user tier. A 12-person team can buy a 15-user band. Check the calculator, not a 2024 blog.
- Education has a separate Atlassian discount path. We will not invent a classroom sticker.
- OpenAI sees transcript text for titles and summaries — Loom's own FAQ. That is a policy conversation, not a cheaper plan.
Stay on Starter if you are tasting the link, not running a program
Starter is a real product: 25 videos, five minutes, 720p, comments, transcriptions, up to 50 members, unlimited screenshots. Stay here while you prove the team will click a Loom instead of booking a meeting. The watermark and the minute cap are the product working.
Leave Starter the week the 26th video or the sixth minute is a customer-facing walkthrough, not a surprise. Do not leave Starter because a deck said 'AI video suite' and showed Synthesia. If the file was a presenter on a script, that is the video ranking. If the file was a board deck, that is presentations — Gamma, not a darker Loom.
Buy Business when the link is the job
Business is the honest 2026 Loom. Unlimited videos and length, 4K, branding off, basic waveform trim, uploads, passworded links, a few extra spaces. That is the habit Loom alternatives still defends: a face, a tab, a URL the team already knows how to open. Annual if Creators already record weekly. Monthly if you are proving the workspace is not a second Drive nobody opens.
Buy it when a two-minute bug walkthrough or a CS reply is faster as video than as a thread. Skip Business if the leak is a launch demo that has to look directed — Screen Studio on a Mac, and Loom alternatives says so. Skip it if you will hunt 'um' on a 40-minute file — Descript. Skip it if there is a guest in another city — Riverside. A Business seat will not become those products if you pay more.
- Best for: product, CS, and founders who already live in Loom links and will keep Creator seats honest
- Skip if: the file is a polished Mac demo, a transcript cut, a remote studio, or a slide deck
- Honest watch-out: every teammate as a Creator is how Atlassian invoices climb. Lite for people who watch. Creator for people who record.
Buy Business + AI when someone already records — and will use the recap
Business + AI is everything in Business plus the rows Business withholds: auto titles and summaries, chapters, filler-word and silence removal, edit-by-transcript, auto CTAs, meeting recap emails and notes, admin insights. It is not a 'more professional' badge. It is packaging after the take.
Buy it when Creators already ship weekly and the expensive part is the five minutes after record — title, chapters, a recap someone will read. Skip it if you have not filled Starter's 25 videos. Skip it if the edit job was a 40-minute interview — Descript still wins that cut. Skip it if you wanted an avatar on a script (HeyGen / Synthesia) or a blog recut (Pictory). Those are the video ranking. Loom AI will not become them at $24.
- Best for: teams already on Business whose weekly pain is packaging, not the recorder
- Skip if: nobody hits record, or the leak is a directed demo / a guest / a deck
- Honest watch-out: Loom's own FAQ brags that most people do not edit the auto title. That is efficiency only if the title is not wrong.
Buy Enterprise when SSO, or an SLA, is the job
Enterprise is Guard Standard (SSO, SCIM, org audit log), Salesforce, a 99.95% uptime SLA, dedicated support, unlimited spaces. It is a quote. Atlassian bills Enterprise on members, not just Creators — read the Billing FAQ before you treat it as 'Business + AI with a lock.' We will not invent a typical contract.
Buy Enterprise when security is why a consumer workspace died. Do not buy it because Business + AI felt lonely and a webinar said AI louder. Mid-market teams that jump a tier then discover they needed three Creators and Lite viewers, not Guard, sit through procurement for a standup.
Loom vs Tella vs Descript vs Screen Studio, as a bill
Tella is the Loom-shaped alternative when the editor is the fight — Loom alternatives leads with it. You are not saving money by switching if the team already clicks Loom links; you are buying a month of lost standups. Descript is a transcript editor. Buying Descript because Business + AI includes 'edit by transcript' is how an editor sits unused on a two-minute update. Screen Studio is a paid Mac app for a directed demo. Loom will look like a standup on a launch page no matter what you pay.
Gamma and Plus AI live on presentations. If the 'Loom' was a board update, you are on the wrong pricing page. Otter and Fathom live on transcription. A meeting recap is not an async habit. HeyGen and Synthesia are presenters on a script — video ranking, not this bill.
What we are not pricing
- A watch-time or click-through lab. We did not run 400-video bake-offs or invent a review count.
- Atlassian tier gaps as a 'typical' savings story. Pay on the cart you will renew.
- Education or nonprofit stickers as the default invoice.
- A fake Impact or PartnerStack URL. Until a real partner link is set, outbound CTAs go to official sites — loom.com, or Tella / Descript / Screen Studio on their reviews.
- Every workspace member as a Creator. Lite is free. That is the 2026 invoice trap.
Most 'what does Loom cost' tickets are a Business ticket, a stay-on-Starter-until-video-26 ticket, or a you-needed-Tella-or-Screen-Studio ticket. The pricing page is doing too much work if you have not named the file.— Aiacent pricing, 2026
Verdict
Tasting the link: Starter. Face-and-tab updates the team already plays, a few honest Creators: Business, annual if the habit already survived the trial. Packaging after the take is the weekly leak: Business + AI. SSO or an SLA: take the Enterprise conversation. Needed a grown-up editor: Tella, then Loom alternatives. Needed a transcript cut: Descript. Needed a directed Mac demo: Screen Studio. Needed a deck: presentations. Then read productivity if the fight is the desk around the link, not the plan picker.
