Synthesia pricing (2026): Starter vs Creator vs Enterprise, and what the minutes cost
Synthesia Starter is $29 a month — and that buys about ten video minutes. Creator is the working self-serve seat. Enterprise is the quote. The sticker is not the bill.

- How we rank
Synthesia
8.1/10Best for avatar training video
Avatar video for training, enablement, and company updates — not a film.
Synthesia leads our video ranking because avatar training and enablement is a real department with a budget, and Synthesia is still the default there. Script, avatar, locales. No camera. No editor. That is a different job from text-to-video for marketers.
- Best for
- L&D, enablement, and internal comms teams that need a presenter on camera without a studio.
- Skip if
- You needed to recut a blog into a Reel, or you expected cinematic generation.
Why it ranks
- The grown-up avatar product: scripts in, localized presenter videos out
- Custom avatars and translations are why enterprises keep paying
- Looks like a training video on purpose, which is the job
Watch-outs
- Uncanny if you try to fake a founder brand film
- Wrong tool for blog-to-social recuts (that is Pictory)
- Per-minute economics add up when everyone 'just needs a quick video'
Product look
Synthesia
Figure slot. No vendor screenshot until we have a rights-cleared file.
People search 'Synthesia pricing' because they want a number. The number is not the hard part. Synthesia publishes Basic, Starter, Creator, and a quote for Enterprise. The meter is video minutes — and they are tight. If you do not name whether you are replacing a quarterly training shoot or trying to make TikToks, you will buy Starter because it is $29 and then bounce off a ten-minute cap, or you will take an Enterprise conversation because someone Googled 'best AI video generator.'
This is a cost page, not a lab. We checked the public Synthesia pricing page on 19 September 2026. Vendors move packs — they now also talk about credits as a shared pool next to minutes. Confirm the live numbers on synthesia.io/pricing before you sign. We will not invent an Enterprise sticker, a per-minute lab, or an Impact link we do not have. Synthesia alternatives is the decision page if you are trying not to buy it. Pictory vs Synthesia is the two-way if marketing and L&D are both in the room. The tool review is /tools/synthesia. The video ranking is the scored table.
The public ladder we checked
| Plan | Public price | Video minutes | What you are actually buying |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $0 | About 10/month; watermark; no download on the free taste we saw | A try-the-editor seat. Not a rollout. |
| Starter | $29/mo, or about $18/mo billed annually | About 10/month, or 120/year on annual | 1 editor, 3 guests, 125+ stock avatars, downloads, logo off |
| Creator | $89/mo, or about $64/mo billed annually | About 30/month, or 360/year on annual | 1 editor, 5 guests, 180+ avatars, API, more personal avatars |
| Enterprise | Custom quote; typically annual | Unlimited on the page we saw | SSO/SAML, SCORM, one-click translation, collaboration, brand kits, a CSM |
- Unused minutes do not roll. Hit the cap and you wait or upgrade. That is Synthesia's own FAQ.
- A 59-second clip still spends a minute of allowance. Short social math is worse than a 6-minute training module.
- Studio Express-1 avatars were listed as a paid add-on (about $1,000/year) on annual plans. We will not invent a custom-avatar menu beyond that.
- The old Personal plan is in maintenance. Articles that still sell it as the current checkout are stale.
Buy Starter if you are proving a presenter habit, not running L&D
Starter is the honest taste of a face on a script. One editor, a handful of guests, 125+ stock avatars, downloads, logo off. Ten minutes a month is two or three short modules — or one longer update you will regret regenerating. Annual at about $18/month is how you lock a year of that cap. Monthly at $29 is how you leave if the uncanny valley showed up on week two.
Buy it when you already write scripts and needed to see whether a stock presenter survives an internal channel. Skip it if the calendar is weekly enablement in more than one language. That meeting is Creator or Enterprise. Skip it if the input is a blog URL. That is Pictory — Synthesia alternatives names that fork, and Pictory pricing is the recut bill.
- Best for: one enablement person testing whether a stock avatar is even acceptable
- Skip if: you needed weekly localized training, SCORM, or a blog-to-Reel motion
- Honest watch-out: ten minutes is not a program. Treating Starter as a studio is how this page exists
Buy Creator when a working self-serve seat is the job
Creator is the first public plan that looks like a job. About 30 minutes a month (360/year), more avatars, more personal avatars, API, interactive extras. $89 monthly or about $64 billed annually. This is the plan most 'we will make avatar video every week' tickets should price — not Starter, and not a Fortune-100 quote.
Buy it when one editor (plus guests) will ship modules on a calendar and 30 minutes is a real constraint you can live with. Skip it if legal wants SSO, the LMS wants SCORM, or six locales is the point. Those are Enterprise features wearing a Creator-shaped hope. Skip it if the leak is a prospect's name in the first line — that is HeyGen on the video ranking, not a bigger Synthesia basket.
- Best for: a small enablement or course desk that already writes scripts and will regenerate carefully
- Skip if: you have not survived Starter's face on an internal channel, or the leak is social recuts
- Honest watch-out: an API will not invent a script. Wooden copy at Creator prices is just more expensive wood
Buy Enterprise when minutes, locales, or governance is the job
Enterprise is how Synthesia sells the company. Unlimited minutes on the page we saw, 240+ stock avatars, unlimited personal avatars (fair use), SAML/SSO, SCORM, one-click translation, live collaboration, brand kits, a dedicated conversation. You request a quote. The term is usually a year. That is not a darker Creator. It is a different buying meeting.
Buy it when L&D or sales enablement already has a localization problem and cannot put an exec in a studio every week — the same job that still leads our video ranking. Do not buy it because Starter felt lonely and a deck said '90% of the Fortune 100.' Mid-market teams often sign Enterprise and then discover they needed three scripts and a brand kit, not a CSM.
- Best for: enablement orgs that already have a bench, an LMS, and a reason security is in the room
- Skip if: you have not written the first ten scripts, or the leak is a blog archive (Pictory) or outbound personalization (HeyGen)
- Honest watch-out: a custom quote will not make a wooden script less wooden. Garbage briefs scale more expensively on Enterprise
Synthesia vs Pictory vs HeyGen, as a bill
Pictory Professional annual is about $35 and buys export minutes for a recut. Synthesia Starter annual is about $18 and buys about ten presenter minutes. They are not a savings story. Pictory vs Synthesia is the job split: URL → captioned stock-and-voice versus script → face → locales. The video ranking is the four-way with HeyGen and Fliki.
HeyGen is the personalized-video seat — the prospect's name, their language, a volume a human cannot shoot. It is not a cheaper Synthesia. Fliki is a budget stock-and-voice shop. Buying Fliki to 'save' on Synthesia is how you put explainer energy in a course. Synthesia alternatives walks those forks without a dump list.
What we are not pricing
- Enterprise per-seat or per-minute quotes. Anyone who publishes one invented it.
- Roleplay-session packs and credit add-ons. If the cart has a usage line, read it.
- A 'Personal' plan from 2024. Synthesia's own help center says that plan is in maintenance.
Most 'what does Synthesia cost' tickets are a Creator ticket, an Enterprise ticket, or a Pictory ticket. The pricing page is doing too much work if you have not named the face.— Aiacent pricing, 2026
Verdict
One person, a few scripts, proving whether a stock avatar survives internally: Starter monthly. A working self-serve calendar under 30 minutes a month: Creator, annual if the habit is already real. Locales, SSO, SCORM, unlimited minutes: take the Enterprise conversation. A blog you recut for social: do not buy Synthesia — Pictory is the seat, and Pictory vs Synthesia says so. Trying not to buy the studio at all: Synthesia alternatives. Then read the video ranking if you want the score next to HeyGen and Fliki.
