A paraphraser and rewrite desk — not an everywhere overlay.

The Aiacent take
QuillBot survived the writing-AI pile-up by staying a rewrite tool: paste the passage, pick a mode, take a version you will still own. Grammar, summarizer, citations, a detector, a humanizer — the extras sit around that job. We score it as the paraphraser, not an overlay trophy.
Grammarly still wins the sentence already in every box (8.2). ChatGPT still wins the blank page (8.3). Jasper still wins a brand desk. QuillBot wins when the expensive part is 'say this again without sounding like the last draft.'
Public Premium prices come from QuillBot's own 'How much is QuillBot Premium?' FAQ, checked 19 September 2026: $19.95 monthly, $39.95 every three months, $99.95 a year. Confirm quillbot.com/upgrade — regional carts move. We will not invent a Team numeral.
Product look
QuillBot
Figure slot. No vendor screenshot until we have a rights-cleared file.
Pros
- Paraphrase modes are the product, not a slide next to a chatbot
- Annual Premium is a cheap rewrite habit if you will actually open it
- Grammar, citations, and a detector live next to the rewrite — a student desk
Cons
- It will not follow you into Zendesk. That is Grammarly
- A fluent paraphrase of a hollow paragraph is still hollow — and easier to paste
- Team is a quote. Do not invent a per-seat sticker from a blog
Who it's for
- Students and researchers rewriting a passage they already wrote
- ESL operators who needed modes more than an everywhere underline
- People who will paste, pick, and still reread
Who should skip it
- Companies that write across Gmail, Zendesk, and Docs (Grammarly)
- One person with a brief and no passage (ChatGPT Plus)
- A brand bench that has to sound like one company (Jasper)
What matters in the product
Paraphraser modes
The whole point. Standard, Fluency, Formal, and the rest. Treat the output as a draft. We did not run a plagiarism-evasion lab.
Grammar and extras
A checker, citations, a detector, a humanizer. Useful around the rewrite. Not a reason to skip Grammarly if the box is the leak.
Verdict
The paraphrase desk. Buy it when you will paste a passage. Do not buy it as a cheaper Grammarly.
