HeyGen pricing (2026): Free vs Creator vs Pro vs Business — and what credits cost

Creator is the honest solo seat. Pro is 4K and a fatter credit pool. Business is collaboration plus a $149 first seat. The expensive mistake is paying Business for a blog recut — or staying Free until the fourth video is the campaign.

HeyGen

8.0/10

Best for personalized video

Personalized avatar video — the prospect's name, in their language.

HeyGen is the video tool we would buy for outbound and lifecycle personalization: a presenter that can say the account's name, in the right language, without a shoot. That is closer to a GTM motion than to a YouTube program.

Best for
Growth and sales teams sending personalized video at a volume a human cannot shoot.
Skip if
You needed generic explainers from a blog URL, or a cinematic generator.

Why it ranks

  • Personalization (name, company, locale) is a first-class motion, not a hack
  • Avatar quality is competitive with Synthesia for public-facing clips
  • API and batch jobs match how growth teams actually work

Watch-outs

  • Personalized spam is still spam — the model will not save a bad offer
  • Not the straightforward blog-to-video tool
  • Avatar uncanny-valley still shows up on a landing-page hero

People search 'HeyGen pricing' because they remember a mid-twenties Creator, or because finance asked why a 'video AI' now invoices Pro, Business, and credit packs. Those are different tickets. If you do not name whether you needed a prospect's name in the first line, a presenter for training, or a blog recut, you will climb to Business for a watermark — or stay on Free until the fourth clip is the launch.

This is a cost page, not a lab. Plan names, credit pools, and seat math were checked against heygen.com/pricing and HeyGen Help (credit-based plans; legacy Team notes) on 19 September 2026. Credits are the meter. Stickers move. We do not invent an Enterprise quote, an avatar-accuracy bake-off, or a partner URL. The full review is /tools/heygen. HeyGen alternatives is the leave-or-stay guide. Synthesia pricing is the training-minute bill. The video ranking is the scored desk.

ProFrom $49/mo (1,000 credits); higher credit tiers on the same desk1,000+ credits; 4K; translation-script edit; advanced modelsVolume and export quality. Not a team workspace.
Business$149/mo first seat + $20 per extra seat (annual commonly $1,428 + $240/seat)1,500 shared credits/mo; videos up to 60 minutes; 4KCollaboration, SSO, SCORM, credit top-ups — seats do not add credits

Plan names and limits from heygen.com/pricing and HeyGen's own FAQ, checked 19 September 2026. Monthly is what the page leads with. Creator annual commonly lands at $24/mo ($288/year). Confirm checkout. Legacy Team ($39/seat, two-seat floor) is not a new-buyer row.
  • Credits are one pool across features. Duration, model, and complexity change the burn. HeyGen's FAQ is explicit: do not treat 600 credits as 600 minutes.
  • Monthly unused credits roll one extra month. Annual credits accumulate until renewal. Cancel and they die. That is HeyGen's own help, not a blog rumor.
  • Pro tiers scale credits only — HeyGen lists rows from 1,000 credits at $49 up to very large packs (they have published a 100,000-credit row near $4,300). Confirm the live slider. We will not paste a ladder the cart will outdate.
  • Business extra seats are $20. They do not grow the 1,500-credit pool. Buying five seats because the list is long is how you pay for commenting and still starve generation.
  • Legacy Team is gone for new buyers. Articles that still sell $39/seat Team as checkout are stale.

Stay on Free if you are tasting a face, not a list

Free is a real product: three videos a month, one minute, stock avatars, a custom-avatar taste, no credit card. Stay here while you prove an AI face is even acceptable on a channel you own. The cap is the product working.

Leave Free the week the fourth video or the second minute is a prospect clip, not a surprise. Do not leave Free because a GTM ad said personalization and showed a 40-row CSV. If nobody owns the list, you are not a Creator customer who is being disciplined. You are shopping for a novelty. HeyGen alternatives already says personalized spam is still spam.

Buy Creator when a solo pipeline is the job

Creator is the honest 2026 HeyGen for one person. 600 credits, 30-minute caps, 1080p, watermark off, a voice clone, 175+ languages. Annual at $24 if you already shipped a personalized clip someone opened. Monthly at $29 if you are proving the face is not a joke on week two.

Buy it when the clip has to say the account's name and you will review a sample before you batch. Skip Creator if the job is L&D with a presenter — Synthesia, then Synthesia pricing. Skip it if the input is a URL — Pictory, then Pictory pricing. Skip it if the card was the whole objection and you needed stock-and-voice volume — Fliki on the video ranking. A Creator seat will not become those products.

  • Best for: a growth or founder seat that will build one personalization motion and watch the credit burn
  • Skip if: you have not survived Free's face, or the leak is training / a blog recut / a team workspace
  • Honest watch-out: 600 credits is not a quarter of outbound. Avatar IV and translation will empty it faster than a talking-head FAQ.

Buy Pro when 4K or the credit wall is the job

Pro starts at $49 for 1,000 credits, 4K, translation-script editing, advanced models. Higher Pro tiers buy more credits on the same feature set. It is still one seat. It is not Business with a smaller invoice.

Buy Pro when Creator's pool is the actual fight and you can name the model that burned it. Skip it if you have not used Creator's 600. Skip it if you needed commenting, SSO, or SCORM — those sit on Business. Skip it if you wanted unlimited training minutes. That meeting is Synthesia Enterprise, not a fatter HeyGen slider.

Buy Business or Enterprise when the workspace is the job

Business is $149 for the first seat and $20 for each extra: 1,500 shared credits, 60-minute videos, collaboration, SAML / SSO, SCORM, LMS, credit top-ups (HeyGen Help has listed extra credits around $0.05 — $5 per 100 — on Business). Seats do not add credits. Enterprise is multi-workspace, SCIM, MFA, commercial terms, a CSM — a quote.

Buy Business when more than one person will comment on drafts and security asked for SSO. Buy Enterprise when those controls are why a consumer workspace died. Do not buy either because Creator felt lonely and a webinar said 'AI video studio.' Mid-market teams that jump to $149 then discover they needed three reviewed clips a week, not SCORM, sit through implementation for a mail-merge.

HeyGen vs Synthesia vs Pictory vs Fliki, as a bill

Synthesia Starter is $29 — about ten presenter minutes. Synthesia pricing is that page. Synthesia wins a training module. HeyGen wins the variable. Buying Synthesia because HeyGen looked like sales software is how a name never gets said. Buying HeyGen because L&D needed SCORM is how you pay $149 and still lack an LMS export until Business.

Pictory is a recut. Pictory pricing is the export-minute bill. Fliki is the cheap stock-and-voice shop. The video ranking is the scored four-way. A sane AI video stack is the ladder if you were about to buy all four. HeyGen alternatives is the leave-the-logo guide.

What we are not pricing

  • A 20-row Pro credit ladder as the 2026 invoice. HeyGen's slider is the source of truth; blogs go stale.
  • An avatar-quality or lip-sync lab. We did not run 400-clip bake-offs or invent a review count.
  • Legacy Team as if it were still checkout.
  • API or credit-pack overages as if they were Creator. Those live in-account.
  • A fake Impact or PartnerStack URL. Until a real partner link is set, the CTA goes to heygen.com.
Most 'what does HeyGen cost' tickets are a Creator ticket, a Business-for-SSO ticket, or a you-needed-Synthesia ticket. The pricing page is doing too much work if you have not named the variable.Aiacent pricing, 2026

Verdict

Tasting a face: Free. One person, a list they own, a clip that has to say the account's name: Creator, annual if that already survived Free. 4K or Creator's credit wall: Pro, sized on the slider. Several editors plus SSO or SCORM: Business — remember seats do not add credits. Security or multi-workspace: take the Enterprise conversation. Needed a trainer: Synthesia, then Synthesia pricing. Needed a blog recut: Pictory. Then read HeyGen alternatives if the logo is the argument, the video ranking if you want the scores, and a sane AI video stack if you were about to buy the whole drawer.
