Gamma

Prompt, outline, or doc in — a shareable deck out, without opening PowerPoint first.

8.4/10Best AI presentation makerUpdated September 19, 2026

The Aiacent take

Gamma is the AI presentation tool we would open first in 2026. Prompt, paste an outline, or upload a doc. Get a card-style deck you can present in the browser or export. The teams that like it treat Gamma like a junior designer with a stopwatch. The teams that hate it pasted a 60-page PDF and presented the first pass to a board.

We ranked it first because 'best AI presentation maker' is usually a speed-to-credible-draft job. Plus AI wins if the file has to be born inside PowerPoint or Google Slides. Beautiful.ai wins if a team brand kit is the bottleneck. Canva Magic wins if the rest of the creative already lives in Canva. Tome is not on the table — the presentation product shut down in 2025.

Skip it if legal will only accept a .pptx on last year's master, or if you needed a writer more than a deck. That second buyer wanted the writing ranking.

Most 'we need an AI PowerPoint tool' tickets are a Gamma ticket or a Plus AI ticket. The file format is doing too much work.

Pros

  • Fastest path from a messy brief to a deck someone will click
  • Export to PPT, PDF, and Slides is real — Tome's old lock-in is not the model
  • Good enough for internal reviews, fundraising drafts, and lunch-and-learns

Cons

  • On-brand enterprise masters still look more native in Beautiful.ai or Plus AI
  • Credit math can surprise a team that treats every outline like a free generate
  • A pretty first draft is not a story — someone still has to cut slides

Who it's for

  • Founders and operators who need a draft deck this afternoon
  • Marketers turning a brief or a doc into a shareable narrative
  • Anyone who still has a Tome export and needs a living tool

Who should skip it

  • Deck teams that live in a corporate PowerPoint master (Plus AI)
  • Brand teams that needed Smart Slides and a locked kit (Beautiful.ai)
  • Designers already in Canva for everything else (Canva Magic Studio)

What matters in the product

Generate from a brief

The product. Outline or doc in, cards out. Edit. Do not present the first generation to a customer.

Present or export

Live link, PPT, PDF, Slides. Export is why it replaced Tome for people who got burned. Still check the master fonts.

Themes and brand

Fine for most teams. Not a Beautiful.ai-class locked kit. If the brand team owns every pixel, you are on the wrong row.

Verdict

The default AI deck tool. Buy it for speed to a shareable draft. Stay in PowerPoint with Plus AI if the master is the law. Do not buy it because you missed Tome.
